"If I may ask, where exactly are we going to go once we cross the border?"

....

"We're gonna take a plane to America. I got some tickets from some punk-ass teens who tried robbing me. Made 'em pay me back with these things," he exclaimed as he reached into his pocket to pull out what appeared to be two plane tickets.

"I see."

Peko let a lazy yawn escape from her mouth, which then caused Fuyuhiko to yawn as well.

Kazuichi was so focused on trying not to get motion sickness from the bumps and thumps of the car that he probably didn't notice.

They finally arrived at the border, handing the patrol their passports and gaining permission to cross.

They were now off to a new life.. together..

...........

Before Peko even realized it, they were at the airport. It was decently early, around 4am, so there weren't many people rushing in and out of the building, but it was still semi-full with strangers, leading Peko to become cautious.

Even out here at 4 in the morning, someone could still try and attack him... her eyes narrowed on the front entrance and the people walking in and out of it.

"Why are you eyeing down random fucking people?"

Her expression twisted into somewhat of a shocked one

"We musn't let our guard down, even now, someone could be-"

......

She was silenced by a single pale finger pushed to her lips.

"Stop it. Nobody's gonna get to us now, ya got that?" He gave her a half smile to show that everything was alright, and pulled his hand away.

She nodded in agreement, though she still was not going to let down her focus.

Fuyuhiko reached into the back of the car and pulled out what Peko presumed to be some of his luggage, perhaps clothes and other necessary odds and ends. She gripped her own bag as well, grimacing at the thought that they would be in another country with nothing less than a few bags of clothes and each other.

They both turned back to Kazuichi and thanked him for the ride, watching him hold back some sickness that was caught in his throat from the ride. They watched him drive off, and the scene almost looked like it was out of an action movie, watching his black van drive off into the sunrise.

Peko gave a bit of a chuckle at the thought.

Peko glanced back at their luggage, revisiting her previous thoughts.

"Don't be thinkin' this is all we got, i've been planning this shit for a while now, i'm not just gonna drop ourselves off in another country with nothing," he said as he gave Peko a reassuring pat on the back.

Peko looked at him questioningly, wanting a bit more of an answer than what she received.

Fuyuhiko sighed "I've got ourselves passports, got ourselves a place to stay, and i've even got us some money that will get us through the month until I find a place to work."

He glanced at her to check if she wanted more answers.

"Right, i'm sorry for questioning you.." Peko replied apologetically.

"Don't sweat it."

That was still pretty vague, but she wasn't about to question him again.

....

There was silence for the rest of the time until they inevitably got onto the plane. Watching Fuyuhiko getting pat down at the check in was less than pleasant though, as she went to stop them but then stopped herself after receiving a disapproving glance from Fuyuhiko.

The entire plane ride was full of mostly silence and the sometimes wailing cry of a small child.

Since she still had barely gotten any rest, she decided to take a nap on the plane, and by the time she woke up, they had reached their destination. Though when she awoke, she found a sleepy Fuyuhiko resting on her shoulder. She nudged him awake silently, trying her best to give him a peaceful wake up call.

Needless to say, when he found out where he had chosen to rest his head, he was more than embarrassed with himself, and become a fumbling pile of blushing apologies.
