"Aren't they a bit close?" Hermione asked quietly, nodding in the direction of Morgan and Fred. His hand laid on her knee, rubbing up and down soothingly as they both ate breakfast.
"Well, after the whole Max thing, they've been all over each other."
It was true since George cleared everything up with Fred, he'd been smothering the poor girl. Of course, it wasn't all touching, it was even just him sitting next to her in the Gryffindor common room while she read, or helping her study in the library. She hadn't complained though; she quite enjoyed the affection. She did, however, wish she could talk to her mother about it.
Y/n would never admit it out loud, but seeing Fred and Morgan together stirred up painful memories. Every time she saw them, she was reminded of the relationship her and Sirius used to share. She was then reminded of his crime; the 12 years he spent in Azkaban, reminded of the complete heartbreak and pain she felt, reminded of how she couldn't sleep in her bed; because it was too big- too cold, reminded of how she burned half her clothes; because he had brought them for her and reminded of how she lived off minimum sleep for months on end; as her dreams were constantly plagued with the thought of him and her friends dead bodies. She couldn't help but play out the situation with the young pair, how Morgan would collapse of heartbreak, when she would fall onto the floor and begged that it wasn't true and then how she'd then destroy their house while she screamed.
"We better go to class," George said, drawing the attention of the pair to them.
"Yeah."
"Probably."
So as usual, they bid each other goodbye and headed in the opposite direction with their friends. "I'm looking forward to Mrs Trelawney predicting your death again, Harry." She commented, heading down the hallway with the pair.
"And for her to predict that 'your heart will break' for the hundredth time." Ron laughed, missing the look of concern flood Morgan's face.
Not that she told anyone, but just like Harry, the teacher's visions concerned her. A broken heart? Why would her heartbreak? Who would do it? The only thing that crossed her mind was Fred Weasley, the ginger who now held her fragile heart in his hands. She hoped with all her might that he'd continue to treat it frailly because the thought of a slip up destroyed her from the inside out.
The day went along as normal until the four sat down in the Great Hall for lunch. They were in the middle of eating when Hermione noticed Morgan's confused stares around the hall.
"What's wrong, Morgan?"
Morgan snapped out of her daze, turning back to her friends. "I haven't seen Fred or George anywhere.'
"I'm sure they're fin-"
Hermione was cut off by yells in the hallway, Morgans eyes instantly crossed to the doorway, where she found a circle of students gathering. She quickly got up, running ahead of her group and into the people, curious as to what was happening and wondering if it had anything to do with the missing twins. When she finally made it in, she sucked in a breath at the sight that met her.
Fred was standing in the middle, having a yelling match with a short and angry first grader.
"STAY AWAY FROM HER." He had yelled, his ears as red as his hair and fists clenched so tight that his knuckles were white.
"I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT!" The younger one screamed back, eye's glazed over with tears begging to escape.
"What's going on?" Ron's voice came from beside her, just as confused as she was.
