a familiar sight it was to find employee kim namjoon with his nose stuck in the same book at his work desk, and his laptop idling the author's official website.

"kim namjoon," seokjin, his boss, announces to grab his attention.

namjoon immediately drops the book to the ground and switches screens, as if seokjin hadn't already seen what he was doing.

"i'm sorry," namjoon says lowly.

"you read that book over and over... why?" seokjin asks, his head tilting toward his younger.

"it's such a great book, mr. kim..." namjoon sighs dreamily. "i had just gotten to the point where maine told antoine she was sick."

seokjin begins to say something in return, but namjoon cuts him off.

"and when i checked her website this morning, she had another message concerning her book-meet tour and she's finally coming to seoul. i was so excited, i wanted to read it a bit more again."

jungkook, a new employee, walked by and heard namjoon pouring his heart out to seokjin about the book he loved so much.

"nerd!" jungkook yells before darting off with his boss's coffee.

namjoon chuckles softly as he sees the young boy run away.

seokjin bends down to pick up the forgotten book and inspect it.

"it's that good?" he asks doubtfully.

"i've cried multiple times each time i've read it," namjoon announces a bit too proudly.

seokjin falls silent, not knowing how to reply. eventually, he finds something to say. "so, are you going? to the book-meet?"

"ah, i'd love to if i could get off work. i've sent ahn ye-eun plenty of fan mail and emails that she's never replied to, so i'd like to go just to ask her the questions i've always wanted to ask her."

seokjin ponders for a minute. "what day is it?"

"next week, on friday..."

"i can get you off," seokjin says, clicking his tongue and handing to book back to his younger.

"really? are you serious? oh, mr. kim, i don't know how to thank you!" namjoon squeals.

"you don't have to," seokjin grins. "just work hard until then, okay? and there will be no problem."

"i always work my hardest," namjoon announces.

"i know you do," his boss sighs happily. "keep it up."

namjoon nods and immediately puts his book away, so he will not be distracted from his work.

friday came up both quickly, and slowly. it varied. but nonetheless, namjoon was completely ecstatic.

he dressed as nicely as possible, hardly believing that anything going on was actually happening.

he was shaking from nervousness when he got to the meeting spot. there were not many people there, which was good, because then, namjoon could take his time and ask her lots of questions.
