Chapter 1

Paralyn’s POV

 

“Ugh Kaylee work is so slow right now”, I complained to my best friend Kaylee.

 “Well i can always come to your work and hang out”, suggested Kaylee I remembered my boss was here.

“Um not today the boss is here maybe tomorrow”, I replied chipping the black nail polish off my nails.

“Ok well i have to go I’m making lunch”, said Kaylee and in the background i could hear the pots and pans clattering together. “Ok later”, I replied and hung up.

 

I then started to six some paper and books...so some little things that made it seem like i was working. Then the sensor on the door went off registering that someone came in. “Welcome to strings and things I’m Paralyn if you need any help”,I said while turning around and saw a cute, lanky, blonde haired boy and i nervously dropped all of the music books and we both bent down to pick them up.

“Here you go”, said the cute stranger with an amazing accent.

“Thanks”, I stuttered while taking the books from his hands.

“Oh I’m Luke”,said Luke and extended his hand for me to shake so i did and my hand was so small compared to his.

“Um I was looking for a new guitar”, said Luke while scratching the back of his neck.

“Ok well follow me”, I said while walking to the back of the store.

“So what are you looking for”, I asked while tucking a piece of hair behind my ear.

“I just need a simple acoustic one and an electric one”,He answered while looking some over.

“Ok well I’m going to go and organize these books call me if you need more help”,I said and then walked off.

 

After about 15 minutes Luke walked up to the cash register, I wasn’t paying attention instead i was texting Kaylee and apparently he saw what I texted. “So you think I’m that cute”,laughed Luke I jumped.

“Oh...you saw that”, I asked while blushing and grabbed my phone and locked it.

“Kind of but i didn't read the rest”, He laughed. I’m so glad he thinks this is funny.

“Well Paralyn I think” He paused,oh why did he have to pause,”I think I’m done”,He continued while putting the guitars on the counter.

I nodded and rang it all up. “That will be $56.95”, I said and he handed me a credit card i swiped the card and handed it back to him.

“Ok sign here and keep this”, I said while handing him the receipts and a pen.

Shortly after he gave me my pen and the receipt back. I looked it over and saw that he gave me his number after he left the store I did a victory dance and got back to work.

 

Luke’s POV

 

 “Calum i told you I’m going to get some new guitars”, I told Calum for the 5th time.

“Ok well bye then”,said Calum and hung up.

I walked into a small music store called strings and things. “Welcome to strings and things I’m Paralyn if you need any help”, said the worker as she turned around.

I noticed her staring at me and i think she knew i was doing the same and man was she pretty. She then dropped the books she was holding on to the floor. I bent down to pick them up and so did she. “Here you go”, I said while handing her the books.

“Thanks”,she stuttered out. “Oh I’m Luke”, I said and extended my hand out she took it and shook and i noticed how small her hand was compared to mine.

“Um i was looking for a new guitar”,I said while scratching the back of my neck.

“Ok well follow me”, said Paralyn and started to walk to the back of the store.

“So what are you looking for”, she asked while tucking a piece of hair behind her ear.

“I  just need a simple acoustic one and an electric one”, I replied while looking at some guitars.

“Ok well I am going to go and organize these books call me if you need any help”,she said and then walked off.

 

After about 15 minutes of looking I found two and walked up to the counter. I saw she was texting so i decided to be a little nosey and read it. *Kaylee the day just got better! This really cute, lanky, Australian guy came in right now! OMG HE IS SO FREAKING CUTE!* she then got a text back saying

*How cute on a scale from 1 to 10*

she texted back *100!*

“So you think I’m that cute”,I laughed. I notice her jump a little.

“Oh...you saw that”,she asked and started to blush it was kinda cute, she then grabbed her phone from the counter.

“Kind of but i didn’t read the rest”,I laughed.

“Well Paralyn I think” I stopped I didn’t know what I was going to say next so I just said “I think I’m done” and put the guitars on the counter. she rang them up.

“That will be $56.95”, she said I handed her my card she then gave me a two receipts and a pen.

“Ok sign here and keep this”,she said. I did as told but also put my number down at the bottom and returned it back to her and left.
