Lasette trailed behind her imprinter, Sidika as they walked down the dimply lit hallway of the hotel.
"Where this place at again?" Lasette asked as she folded her arms over her chest.
"We're meeting her in her office first."
He spoke, his voice mellow but deep. La'Sette walked slower as she stared blankly at Sidika's long jet black hair. "How do you know Melissa again?" She asked. Sidika looked over his shoulder at her.
"We were in the same pack growing up, she moved outta El Paso when she was eighteen, we're nothing but good friends La'Sette."
He assured, but La'Sette didn't buy it.
"You fucked her didn't you?"
She asked narrowing her eyes to the back of his head. Sidika stopped and tilted his head back, he let out a deep sigh and turned to her.
"No, we did not 'fuck', she was like a sister to me 'Setty, geez."
"But you weren't really related."
She said in a tiny voice. Sidika shook his head and turned around moving forward.
"It's cool if you did, just as long as you didn't fuck her while you were fucking me."
She said exhaling. Sidika didn't respond.
"This is it.''
he said. They were standing before a glass door with brown wooden outlining. .
"Obviously, the bitch got the best door in the hotel."
"Did you have to call her a bitch though?" He grimaced at her. She shrugged. Sidika opened the door and immediatly a females arms was wrapped around his neck.
*********************************************
I was thrilled to see Sidika, its been so long since we last seen each other. The warmth between our bodies was vaporizing. I wanted to continue the hug, but when I opened my eyes, I could see a african american girl scowling before me.
Shit. I forgot that when I called he said he was bringing his imprintee. She must've been her. She was pretty, had high cheekbones, plump lips and I was assuming that the hair she had on her head was hers.
"Hello, I'm Melissa, I'm pretty sure Sidika told you all about me."
I held out my hand. The girl just looked at me up and down before shaking my hand. But she didn't say her name.
"Her name is La'Sette."
Sidika said scowling down at her like she had done something wrong.
To make it less awkward than it already was, I walked back to my desk and sat behind it.
"So what are we here for?" La'Sette asked
I looked at La'Sette and then at Sidika, "I would love to tell you, but we're waiting for the rest to come-"
"The rest?" La'sette sneered.
"Yes the rest, three other shifters will be arriving, Casim and his mate Tatiana and Vhristan."
I swallowed.
"Vhristan?"
Sidika asked. I looked at him and nodded.
Vhristian was an old lover of mine. After I left El Paso, we met at a hotel, turned out he was a wolf too. Long story short, we didn't work out and that's why I opened a bar in New Orleans, to get away from all that paranormal werewolf shit, and I never shifted again.
La'Sette looked back and forth between me and Sidika. "Um, who Vhristian?" She asked.
Sidika loomed at me and I exhaled, knowing he was urging me to tell her.
"Vhristian, was my boyfriend a couple of years ago, we broke up."
"And so now you're asking you're ex boyfriend for help with what exactly?" She asked.
Before I could open my mouth, my office doors opened to Casim and Tatiana. Casim was a tall man with tanned skin, while his wife had the prettiest brown skin I ever seen. "What is up people; Sidika long time no see."
Casim and Sidika shook hands while their women introduced themselves.
"Melissa Melina Finker."
He came behind my desk and gave me a big bear hug while his mate was next to.
"Is this it? Where's the rest of the family?" Casim laughed.
"Missing one more?" A deep girl hood trembling voice rang my ears. When I saw Vrhistian enter my office, my smile faded and I became serious.
*********************************************
Four wolves in one room. Everyone was accounted for. The room became silent as Vhristian stood in the doorway with his hand in his pockets and Melissa sat back down and folding her hands on her desk.
Casim looked at the two. "No one told me he was coming " He whispered. Vrhistian chuckled his barbarian chuckle that made Melissa's nipples become numb.
"Well now that we are all here,"
she said as she cleared her throat. "Now we can talk."
Melissa went into her drawer to pull out a big white paper with a drawing on it written un blue marker. "This is the exterior of my bar hotel"
She dragged her finger acros the bottom. "Down here is the bar."
"Ok so what about it?"
La'sette asked. Melissa looked at her and exhaled. "For the last couple of months, there have been robberies at all of my concessions."
"So.....wouldn't you just call the cops?"
La'Sette asked.
Melissa laughed. "I would, but the cops don't know how to deal with Vampires." She said.
"And its not just in my place, the vampires have taken over the while east side, and they're just starting to come up here, people are going missing and so is my money."
"So what do you want us to do?" Vhristian asked. He now had Melissa's full attention.
"There are three floors, two of you with get one floor two on the other and on the last floor."
"One of you on the last floor? Why only one, why not two?" Vhristian asked knowing that he would be on the last floor. Melissa exhaled. "Because I have to stay down here and make sure nothing happens to my office."
"Then let me be on the first floor and two people in the third." He almost sounded like he was begging. Melissa scowled at him. All eyes were on them. "Fine, I don't care, Casim and Tatianna are on the second floor, Sidika and La'sette on the third." She said.
Everyone began to leave the room. "And remember-" she began they turned to look at her. "If you see any vampires, kill on site."
