Kai's P.O.V:
I woke up from my great dream of me not having to deal with high school drama. But my alarm clock messed all that up on a Saturday. I woke up going into my bathroom making sure to do my hair and put on a little bit of Chapstick. I put on my outfit that consisted of black ripped jeans, a white halter crop top and a lace cardigan. I quickly grabbed my phone with the earbuds and slipped on my black combat boots with different designs on them. And then I walked out the door. Walking to school I was blasting music through my headphones before I saw Violet on the phone so I decided to turn down my music and sit next to her. "No, No Zane you listen to me. If you think you can just use me and get away from it then you havent been paying attention. Youll find out what I mean soon enough. You may want to look out at the parking lot." Was all Violet said before she hung up. "So what did you do this time?" I asked. "You'll find out." Violet said texting somebody until we heard something and looked up to see a little fire. "Boom." me and Violet said in unison. "Hey you coming with me to detention?" I asked. "Yeah, yeah" she said before getting up and walking in the school making our way to detention. Violet sat down so I sat next to her with my phone out. I heard a ding come from my phone so I turned down my volume and checked the text. "Hey I have moms phone. Lets just say she's a hookah!" I read out loud to myself lightly. "Where's mom?" I mumbled to myself while typing it then sending it. I soon got a reply. But something distracted me. Grover walked into the room. I was surprised he was too goody-goody to be in detention. Once he told the coach what his name was he nodded over to me and Violet before he was yelled at to sit down. "Ok people I have to go get something. that means cell phones away, eyes forward, mouths shut!" Coach yelled before leaving the room causing me and Violet to start texting again. "Honest to god Paige I understand that were the same age but that doesnt mean you can get me in more trouble." I typed into the little box before sending it. "Uh. Hey Im Grover and you're?" Grover asked Violet causing her to turn away. "Busy. uh yeah I can respect that." Grover said before sitting back in his seat. "Aye, Elmo. Shes ignoring you because youre a candy ass loser" Diesel said to Grover. "I know Grovers kinda an odd name but it was my moms favorite uncle" Grover said making the situation worse. "That's not what your mom said last night." Diesel said. "What your mama dont love you?" Lyle said playing with his bottom lip. "Yeah she told me she gets sad when she sees you." Diesel said. "I wish my mom could see me." Grover said. "Oh she cant see you. is your mom blind or something?" Lyle asked making Diesel and him laugh. "Uh my moms dead." Grover said which made me scrunch up my eyebrows. "I didn't mean to say it like that. I mean I did but not like that" Diesel said. "You're just gonna let him hang arent you?" I said. "I dont know what youre talking about." Grover said. "Yeah what are you talking about?" Diesel asked. "His mom isnt dead you moran. She works at the chemical plant on the line." Violet said. "You messing with me." Diesel said. "You got that right." I said. "You know what Im in here for?" Diesel asked Grover getting close to his face. "I'm here for smacking some kids head across the sidewalk for messing with me." Diesel said with anger laced in his voice. "I didn't mean it like that. I was just trying to lighten things up. You guys called me a loser so I thought it would be funny." Grover said. "Oh dead mom jokes are hilarious. I know I laugh everytime I think of my dead mom." Violet said turning around. "Your mom..." Grover said shaking his head in disappointment. "Her mom isnt dead you idiot but you see how its not funny" I said whipping my head not to look at him. "Ok. No more dead mom jokes ever again." Grover said. "I'm not the one you should be apologizing to. were in here for stealing. He's the one that cracks skulls." Violet said implying us and Diesel. "You're about to lose that phone little lady." coach said pointing a bucket at Violet and walking into the room slamming buckets down in front of us. "Everyone grab a bucket. This is hard time." Coach said making everyone get up. Diesel and Lyle grabbed there buckets while Grover grabbed Three. He handed one to Violet and me before taking his own. "This is fun for you?" I asked because he was grinning. "No. I'm just realizing you know where my mom works." he said. "You know who I am." he said before walking behind me and the rest of the people in detention to the basketball quart. We were soon outside walking into the quart where you could hear the cheerleaders practicing along with the basketball team. "You two are on trash duty." Coach said to Diesel and Lyle. "and you three are going to be scraping gum off the bleachers." coach said to Grover, Violet and I. "for how long?" Violet asked complaining. The coach just ignored her question. "Noodle you got rocks in your shorts?" coach asked making Noodle shake his legs. "Not me coach. the only rocks I have are the ones I was born with." Noodle the second top basketball player said making people chuckle including me. "You'll be scraping the bleachers until all the gums off." coach said giving me and Violet a little nudge towards the bleachers. Violet, Grover and I were walking to the bleachers until an alarm went off. "CODE NINE. CONTAINMENT BREACH IMMNET. AERIAL CONTAMINATION DANGER. REMAIN INDOORS. CLOSE ALL WINDOWS. SEEK SHELTER. REPEAT CODE NINE." a male voice said going on. "On a Saturday." coach said. "We can just ignore it right?" I asked. "No. No we cant ignore it. Drills exist for a reason. If keller chemical ever had a spill knowing where to go and how to get there could save lives." Natalie said. "Of course shes worried about following the rules." Zoe the cheer caption said holding her boyfriend's hand. "You know that tight ass?" her boyfriend LaShawn the basketball caption asked. "Knew her. Trust me I wish I didn't." Zoey said. "COACH!" Grovers sister Mary yelled running towards us. "It's not a drill the chemical plant is on fire." Mary said with fear laced in her voice. Everyone was looking at each other with fear in their eyes. All thoughts were the same. We're going to die.
