AT THE END of the hallway, standing in the corner, was Brad. But, he wasn't alone. His lips were glued to ones belonging to a short, black-haired girl who Mina could recognise from any distance. Her voice echoed through the hallways and bounced off of the lockers each time a giggle erupted from her throat. Her laugh wasn't soothing, it wasn't genuine, nor was it innocent. It was intimidating, as though her laugh had the power to command others to fall to their knees.

Mina's body began to tremble. She marched towards them without control and stood there, her hands knotted into fists at her sides, waiting for them to acknowledge her presence.

But, they didn't.

"Asshole!" She yelled furiously as she lost every ounce of patience. Brad spun around, his features twisted in confusion. Camari, her pink lipstick smudged across her mouth, stepped to the side to look past Brad's tall figure.

Before Brad could utter a single syllable, Mina threw her clenched fist at his nose. He stumbled towards the locker, his hand painfully clutching his face. Camari's eyes popped out of their sockets as she stuck her finger in the air towards her, but before she could start an argument, Mina raised her voice over hers.

"How could you do this to Tilly? Again?" She exclaimed, anger pulsing through her veins, her cheeks painted a dark red.

"Tilly?" Camari threw head back and laughed. Mina's face scrunched up at the sound of her resentful voice echoing through the hallways. "Brad doesn't want Matilda, he wants me." She grinned insensitively.

"You knew he lied to Tilly, so why did you do it?" She demanded, her whole body consumed by disgust. Mina's thoughts drifted to her best friend and a heavy lump formed in her throat.

"That's exactly why I did it. It makes it all the more fun," she said, smirking at Brad.

He glared at Mina, his ears turning bright pink, as a drop of scarlet red blood trickled down from his nose. He impatiently wiped it away. Her eyes pierced through his skull, waiting for him to deny it. But, he never did.

"If I ever see you look in Tilly's direction ever again—" she began to threaten him.

Camari's laugh once again echoed through the hallway as she interrupted her, clutching her stomach. She glared at her as the small girl bent over, cackling. Shoving Brad to the side, Mina planted her feet in front of Camari, towering over her like a tree competing for sunlight.

"You find this funny? So do I, because you've achieved nothing by winning Brad over." She glared down at her, her green eyes ablaze, burning a hole into the center of her skull. "I just hope he doesn't do the same to you," she shrugged before walking away, leaving Camari standing there in silence.
