THE SOUND OF chatter filled the classroom as everybody began to leave. As Mina gathered her books together, she turned to face Enrico so that she could discuss how they would practice. But, he was already gone. She sighed and continued to gather her belongings before trudging out of the classroom.

Once she stepped out of the room, she saw Enrico leaning against the wall beside the door, his hands shoved into his pockets. He pushed himself off of the wall and stood opposite her, rocking back on his heels as he looked down at her. She slid her thumb under the strap of her school bag and pulled it further up her shoulder as she waited for him to speak.

"We should probably decide on which day we should study," he said, pushing his hands deeper into his pockets.

"Day?" She laughed. "Didn't you listen? We have to learn three poems. It's going to take much longer than a day to prepare." He merely blinked as she paused thoughtfully. "Tomorrow's Saturday. How about tomorrow?"

"Sure," he said after a while, the rumble of his low voice vibrating against the lockers, "but I don't think we can do it at my house." He shifted his gaze to the wall beside her.

"That's alright, we can do it at my house. Is 1 pm alright?"

He nodded. She blushed as she looked into his sky blue eyes, as though she was overstepping her boundaries, almost gazing into his soul.

"Great," she smiled at him, "my address is 14 Hill Side. See you tomorrow." She said before walking away.

"Wait—" He closed his mouth as he stared into thin air. She was gone before he had any time to respond and he was left alone again as he found himself staring after her once more.

A cool breeze drifted passed Mina, her soft hair dancing in the wind. She was sprawled across the grass with her two friends, picking at the flowers in the soil.

"Wanna get lunch tomorrow?" Tilly asked, gazing expectantly at them. Robin immediately nodded, her mouth stuffed with chocolate.

"What time?" Asked Mina, twirling the stem of a daisy between her fingers.

"Half past twelve?" Tilly asked thoughtfully.

"I can't." Mina frowned, letting the daisy slip from her fingers and onto the ground.

"Why?" Robin turned to look at her, the corners of her eyes drooping like an ice cream cone melting on a Summer's day.

"I have to study with my English partner," she said.

"I used to be your English partner," said Robin. She frowned, scrunching up the chocolate wrapper with her hand.

Tilly rolled her eyes. "You weren't even in her class."

"Can't you reschedule?" Robin asked. Mina looked at her. The idea of lunch with her two best friends sounded amazing right now. Plus, Saturday afternoons have a half price brunch deal at your favourite diner, said a small voice in her head.
