"You could never do it." I spoke calmly, my eyes closed after long giving up on seeing through the small space my nose had created between the blind fold and my skin. The binding ropes around my wrists, ankles, and torso were tight, as though someone was afraid that I would be able to work my way out of them.
"You doubt my abilities," the man said questioningly. I felt the cold end of a gun press harshly against my temple.
"No... I doubt your desire to actually kill me."
The end was removed momentarily before being used to pistol-whip me. Blood filled the inside of my mouth.
"What would ever make you feel that way," he sneered.
After a miniscule silence, there was some muttering in a language I didn't know and a pair of hands fumbled to remove my blind fold. I opened my silver eyes and scanned the room for faces. The man stepped back out of the darkness, adjusting a white dress shirt.
"Since you're going to die anyways, what do you think of this shirt? I just got it." he said cockily.
I gathered up all the liquid in my mouth and spat, the red mess staining the pure shirt. He sighed.
"Well, I guess I'd end up with such stains on it anyways." he muttered, looking down at the spot in disgust.
"Go to hell."
He laughed at my remark.
"Does this mean I've finally broke you and that stupid facade of yours?"
His face lit up like the stars- slowly. His smile was such a lonely light in the dark, one I knew to be deceptive. Though it seems to be shine so beautifully, my sub conscience told me it was distant and could have died long ago.
And as his lit up, my gaurd dropped. My body went limp and my head hung low. Everything about me felt broken already. The pistol tip gently tilted my head up to face his. His expression seemed to be mixed. Though he was smiling, his eyes seemed full of sorrow.
"I'm almost sorry it had to come to this."
He pulled the trigger.
