The Day Before

It was the day before we left on the cruise. My house was hectic as AC, CJ, D, and LJ pulled up with many suitcases. I thought to myself, "We're only going on a week long cruise. There's no need for there to twenty suitcases in my house!" After that thought, Allie came up to me, and gave me a big hug. She's been looking forward to this trip for a while, and so have the rest of us.
"Hey girlie!" Allie said very energetically.
"Hey, yourself," Carlie said from across the room.
"Why does the gay not get included in this?" Alex asked sarcastically.
"Is it just me or is the room full of estrogen today?" Lulu asked, jokingly of course.
"Oh my Lord, y'all calm down for a minute," I said, as I playfully pushed Lulu.
"Babe, that's a bad choice!!" Lulu said, before she started tickling me.
"Nuuuuuuuu!" I screamed, then I started to laugh.
"Are we just the third, fourth, a fifth wheels for this vacation?" Alex asked as he rolled his eyes.
"Oh stop," Allie said as she broke out into laughter.
CJ made a snarky comment under her breath, but you could slightly hear it. She said, "You're just salty because you're going on a cruise full of women and you're sad, single and gay."
"That was just harsh, Carlie." I said very bluntly before myself and Allie went rushing to see if Alex was okay.
"You're lucky I don't fight you, you know," Lulu said as she left Carlie Jade by herself.
Carlie Jade started to tear up but oh well. I was more concerned about Alex at this moment.
"We haven't even left for the cruise yet," I thought to myself. "The drama has already started. How is everyone going to get along for a whole week?! They ca-"
Carlie interrupted my train of thought. "Can we talk for a sec, Ash?" She seemed really nervous, so I let her be.
"Sure, I guess."
"I'm really sorry about what happened back there, Ash...."
"You shouldn't be apologizing to me. Go and apologize to Alex now, before we leave your ass here and you won't go on the cruise."
"Fine! I'm going!" Carlie said as she stormed out of the room to find Alex.
I followed close behind her, so I could hear what would become of this.
"Damian Alexander," CJ said as she approached.
"Carlie Jade," Alex responded.
"Well this is awkward," I whispered to Lulu.
"You're not wrong," she whispered back.
"Look... I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said what I did. I was being insensitive," she paused, "can we please start over?"
"You still said what you did. And you know that I'm petty as hell," Alex scoffed.
"I have a solution," Lulu stated as she looked at me.
"Tell us then," I said quizzically.
"Carlie Jade McKissack; since you hurt Damian Alexander Miller's poor feelings, you must be his servant while we're on the ship. Nothing major, or over the top. You can't do little simple things either. Like grabbing a remote that is right next to him," Lulu paused, so we could take in everything.
"That... that's a good plan," Alex said.
"Yes it is," AC agreed.
"So now that we've got that settled, let's all load up the suitcases and get in the car, so we can head to the dock to get on the cruise!" I shouted.
"We have some ground rules to cover," Lulu said.
"Ground rules?" Carlie asked.
"Yes," Lulu paused, "ground rules."
"For one, no arguing," I said.
"For two, no more fighting," Lulu followed.
"And for three, just have fun," AC finished.
"Okay. Fine," Carlie Jade reluctantly agreed.
Damian nodded his head in agreement.
With a nodding of heads and shuffling of feet, we loaded up the car and headed to the dock so we could catch the boat for the cruise.
