Chapter Fifteen- Everyone Sleeps

TY POV

"I don't see it anymore." I told Adam. Where did it go?

"Me neither. Let's start walking again, but keep an eye out." He replied. We turned around and started walking.

"Where are we?" I asked. Adam shrugged.

"Where would the others go?" He replied.

"Downhill, near the city."

"Exactly." We changed direction and started nearing the road. I really wanted to hold his hand, but I doubt he likes me back. It'd just be awkward.

MITCH POV

"Mia?" She panted and looked around.

"Mitch, you lied to me. You said you didn't know anything!" I was confused.

"I didn't! Seto is chasing as down right now!" I yelled back.

"He nearly killed me!" Ian exclaimed.

"As if. I bet you're gonna chase me down too. That kid is good with knives." She wiped some blood off of her forehead.

"I promise we didn't know anything." Jerome said. She pulled something on her gun. A clicking sound echoed in the surrounding area.

"I'm going to trust you for now. But one wrong move, and bam!" She aimed the gun at us.

"Another thing. That crazy guy was like right behind me...so we kinda need to go." What? She could have mentioned that earlier!

"But I'm tired!" Jerome complained. I pinched his arm.

We started walking downhill when Mia started acting weird.

"Think we could slow down a little?" She held her head. Her knees buckled and she fell to the ground.

"She must have lost a lot of blood." Ian said.

I rushed over. Her skin felt cold. "We can't leave her here. Jerome help me." Jerome took one of her arms and I took the other.

Ian ripped part of his long sleeve off and tied it around her forehead.

"God, if Seto finds us we're dead." Jerome muttered. Ian picked up the gun she dropped and looked at it.

"This will only shoot a few rounds." Ian said while yawning. Sunlight burst through the branches. We hadn't slept in almost twenty four hours.

"There's an empty river bank over there. If we can move the log we could sleep there." I nodded and made our way over there. Ian and Jerome moved the gigantic log over so it wouldn't fall on us and we wouldn't be seen.

"Goodnight." Jerome said sleepily. I glanced at Mia one more time and fell asleep.

ADAM POV

"I'm. So. Tired." I leaned against Ty and pretended to sleep.

"Well, there's the gravel road." He pointed in front of us. I nodded and yawned.

"Dude, I've seen you without sleep for over a day. Why so tired?" Ty asked. He, however, seemed fine.

"But...I've never walked this long..." I stopped in my tracks and laid down on the ground. Ty rolled his eyes.

"Ridiculous." He sat down against a tree and looked around.

"Go to sleep little Sky." He whispered. I smiled and fell asleep within seconds.

When I woke up, Ty was right over my face. He jumped back.

"What were you doing?" I asked slowly. He blushed and shrugged.

"Making sure you were sleeping, like not dead." He's so cute when he's flustered.

"Sure you were." I teased. I stood up. My mouth felt dry.

"Now I'm thirsty!" I yelled. Ty panicked and looked around.

"Shh! Seto could be around." I regret yelling. He's right. But I'm still hungry.

"So what are we going to do for food?" I asked quietly. "I don't know. Maybe we are close to the bottom. My ears are popping." The road was right there. Maybe we could take that way.

"Let's just walk on the road." Ty said, practically reading my thoughts.

"Sure whatever."
