I wanted to cry, but I physically couldn't, I just stared at myself with a quivering smile.

Before my dad had died he used to always tell me that if you smiled when it hurt that the pain would go away.

The throbbing near my dark blue eye had began to slowly fade leaving a purple blotch.

My eyelashes were long, and my lapis lazuli eyes had yellow specs in them that looked like stars in the night sky.

My nose was red from my allergies, but it was sculpted to perfection, as were my brown eyebrows.

My lips were a soft pink but they were full, but right now my lip was starting to swell and bleed in the middle.

My cheeks were red, but I was naturally a little pale, and my ears were a little pointed at the tips.

My hair was dark brown and wavy, it was shaved shorter on the sides, seeing as that was the current fashion.

My teeth were however perfectly straight, even though I wasn't, they were white.

I would be pretty attractive however I had really bad acne, people often said that gay guys were supposed to be hot.

I splashed my face with water, the blood washed into the sink, it wasn't any worse than my usual beatings.

I wasn't tall but I wasn't short either, I had a swimmers build, not much to defend myself with.

I walked out of the bathroom and toward my locker with my eyes looking towards the floor.

I knew people were laughing at me, but I was used to it, who would want to help me.

"Move fag" a football player said as he shoved me into a locker, people started laughing.

I looked up to see if anyone would help me pick up my books, my eyes made contact with him.

Eric Carters, he had moved here a month ago, he was already super popular, captain of the football team.

He was a prodigy, and had won the hearts of everyone, he was what I wished to be.

He looked away and followed his football team, he was the only guy who hadn't beaten me up yet.

I reached my locker, CrossFag was painted on it, my name is Abel Crosswell, not Fag.

But enough of my sad life, there were some positives, my mom had a little cafe that no one from my school went to.

It was so peaceful, I smiled as I made my way out of the school to that very place.

I sat down, "how was your day honey" my mom said kissing my forehead, she placed a slice of cake in front of me.

"It was great" I said, I could never bring myself to tell her that I got bullied.

She thinks all my bruises were from sports, she was proud of me.

I picked up a book and sat back down, the cafe had a library, normally a lot of college students would come through.

I turned the page, ouch, I flinched as the paper sliced through my thumb.

I looked up to see if anyone saw me flinch, a really attractive blond guy grinned at me.

I immediately looked down, I put my thumb in my mouth and looked at it.

There was not even a scratch, "Abe!?" my mom said frustratedly walking up to me.
