Mayu's POV
My room filled with rays of sunshine. I could smell the scent of tea in my half-awake, half-asleep state. I already knew that daddy was in the room.
"Good morning, Mayu." My daddy, Sebastian said. I sat up in my bed, still snuggling Usano Mimi.
"Good morning, Daddy!" I replied in my usual sing-song voice. He poured me a fresh cup of tea. The smell was familiar, and then it clicked in my mind; It was Earl Grey tea. He gave me the cup of tea and I sipped the familiar citrusy drink. "Would you like some, Mimi?" I giggled a bit. I continued drinking the tea, well aware of what was happening later today. It was a party! I had never been to one, and I was hoping that Ciel would invite some girls about my age! I can't wait for tonight!
"Daddy?"
"Yes, Mayu?"
"Why are you so good at your job?"
"You see, Mayu, I am simply one hell of a butler."
That was his usual response. He never told Len and me anything about his past, not even if he had a master before this one.
I put the cup down and got out of bed. I got out one of my usual dresses, and daddy left so I could change.
Len's POV
I heard the door open, and I immediately woke up. It was just dad. 'Here comes the buzzkill of a father...' I thought. He never let me do anything fun. I only got to play with Mayu when I was little, just because I have special talents. It was unfair. I want to get out and do things, not be cramped up in this manor all the time. It was unfair.
"Good morning, Len." Sebastian said as he opened the curtains.
"Good morning, dad." I mumbled. He poured me a cup of Earl Grey tea and handed me a small plate with a sliced banana on it. I ate the banana, then washed it down with tea. He exited the room, and I considered wearing my punkish outfit, but I just settled with my suit, seeing how there was going to be a party tonight.
Mayu's POV
I skipped down the stairs to the dining table, where breakfast was to be served. I heard rumors from Meirin that daddy made a fruit cake for breakfast today. Len shuffled to his seat a few moments later. Daddy put the plates in front of us, and there was a strawberry shortcake on the plate! My favorite! I restrained myself from gobbling it up, since I am a lady of high class. I should eat like one, as Madam Red used to say. I wonder what happened to her...
Finally! It's time for the party! I was being escorted by Ciel. I didn't want to be escorted by the meanie pants, but he told me that the guest of honor was a drunk, so it would be better if I was escorted by him just incase anything happened. Daddy also promised me an extra peice of cake during afternoon tea if I said yes. He does know how to persuade me! I hugged Mimi close to my chest. "Are you nervous, Mimi?" I asked. No matter how many times Ciel tells me that Mimi isn't alive, I refuse to believe him. "Don't worry, Mimi. That man won't hurt us if Daddy's around."
