Ben, Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos sat at the table with Seraphine, Sally and Oscar. It was awkward and unpleasant for the pumpkin queen. Sage stayed back in his room, refusing to see the boy king. He had no objection to the four VKs.

Seraphine sat at the head of the table, Ben sat on the other side.

"How are you liking Halloween Town?" Sally broke the awkward silence. Seraphine let out a small smile due to her mother's kindness and curiosity. She wasn't like that, she didn't see the good in people, only the truth.

"It's... strange." Seraphine scoffed at answer Ben gave and muttered something. "Excuse me?" Ben asked, adding a bit of attitude towards the young queen. Seraphine looked up, unemotional.

"It's the people who are strange. That's what you meant to say." Seraphine accuses. Sally gave her daughter a look to be nice. Seraphine just looked back down at her food. Ben didn't reply, if he was going to try and get the Queen of Halloween Town's help then he would just have to take her attacks on him.

Mal, however, wasn't having it. She looked at Seraphine in the eyes with a fake smile. "Well, aren't you? Strange that is."

"I suppose we are, but that is our way. You do not see my people or I, judging you by the way you look or act." Seraphine said back. Mal glares at the young queen.

"Ben hasn't judge you either. He is a great king." She assured, which made Seraphine laugh. It was a sweet sound, but very fake. Everyone would know that Seraphine hasn't laughed for a long time.

"If he were truly a great king, then how is it that he lost his throne. A good ruler would take it back with every force they have."

"That's why I'm here." Ben stands from his seat. Everyone looked at him.

"I'm begging you, Seraphine. Please, set aside your hatred for my father, I'm sorry that he took your father away. I'm sorry that you felt alone, that you had to take on this responsibility at such a young age, but please, help me save my kingdom from that sorceress." Ben begs. The room was still and everyone's eyes were either of Ben or Seraphine. Finally, Seraphine stood up.

"I don't need your pity, I don't need your apologizes, I don't need yours or your father's excuses on why my dad was taken from me, and I don't need to help you." With that, Seraphine left to dinning room, Oscar followed shortly after.

But no one noticed the young pumpkin prince hidden behind the curtains, listening to the pleads of this young king. And that's when Sage knew... He just has to convince his sister to help them.

I'M SORRY IT'S SO SHORT.
