Capter 5: Getting Along

This was my most dreaded moment. Outside, it's snowing and freezing. In here, we have 2 jackets, 2 scarves, 1 blanket, and 2 tired hedgehogs. We both lie our jackets down next to each other. Then we bundle up the scarves to use as pillows. Now, the worst part, sleeping next to shadow. We both lie next to each other under the 1 blanket. I stay up, thinking about the dream I had earlier and the weird feeling I get whenever I'm near the hedgehog next to me. Soon, the cave was filled with the soft snores of the ebony hedgie. I turn to face him, finding him facing me also. 'He's so cute when he sleeps. I want to- No! He'll kill me when he wakes up! But....  screw it. Let's just hope I wake up first' I think as I cuddle up next to the hedgehog lying next to me. He pulls me closer, arms around me, welcoming the new warmth. I just smile and soon fall asleep.

Shadows pov:

I try to sit up once I wake up, but something was pulling me down. I look down to see sonic snuggled up against my chest. I feel heat rising to my cheeks. 'What is he doing? Should I wake him up or let him wake up so I can kill him? But, look at how cute he I- WHAT!?' He began to move 'oh no' he opened his eyes, realized what he was doing, and jumped to his feet, wide eyed.

Sonic's pov:

I had another weird dream. This time went further because someone didn't throw a rock at my chest. I slowly open my eyes. The regret hits me like an eighteen wheeler.
I didn't wake up first. I look up and me and shadow look at each other. Rubies met emerald. My eyes widen and I jump up to my feet. "Oh my chaos, shadow! I'm so sorry!" I blushed and looked down in shame. Shadow quickly got in front of me and lifted my chin, making me look at him again. That only caused me to blush more. "It's fine. I understand if you got cold last night and needed warmth. There's no need to apologize." I some how managed to blush more. "Heh, y-yeah. I got cold." I said while walking away and grabbing half of a pop tart. 'Okay. Note to self. Never do that again. But, then again, he didn't get mad. Can I actually get away with things like that?' I think as I eat. I sigh and sit down, my back leaning against the cave walls. "Bored?" Shadow asked. "Noooo. How'd ya figure that out?" I said. He just scoffed. "I'm trying to actually get along with you sonic so stop making it so difficult" he replied. I just sighed. "I was going to suggest that we could play a game." He said. I looked up at him. "Like what?" I asked. "I dunno. You play any games with Tails when your bored?" "Yeah. We normally play truth or dare." "Then let's play that" he said while coming to sit next to me. "Okay! You first" he looks at me "okay. Truth or dare?" "Truth" "do you actually have feelings for Amy?" I look at him and start laughing. He just looks at me confused. "No! She may be obsessed with me or whatever, but I see her more of a sister." I say as I wipe imaginary tears from my eyes. "Okay! Truth or dare" I look at him. "Truth" "since were on the topic of feelings for others, do you have a crush on anyone?" He looks at me. We stay like that for a minute before he blushed a little and said yes. I look away. For some reason, him saying he has a crush on someone makes me feel... happy? I don't understand. I look over to the snow covered entrance and something catches my eye. "Shadow! Look!" I point at the wall while getting up. There was a small puddle of water on the floor. The Blizzard had stopped and the snow was starting to melt. We may be out of here quicker than I thought.
