"Come on Sami! Hurry up or were going to be late to your first playoff game." Exclaimed Ryleigh.
"I'm coming, I'm coming. I just can't find my Pittsburgh shirt. You know that's my lucky shirt.... OH WAIT. Never mind I found it." Sami replied with excitement.
"Hurry up your dads waiting with your hockey bag and stick already in the truck you slowpoke."
"Okay let's go."
Ryleigh and Sami Ran out into the driveway and jumped into the truck Sami's father was waiting in.
"Jeez little Sid what took you so long" Mr. Lhotak nagged.
"I couldn't find my lucky Pittsburgh shirt. You know the one I was wearing when they won the cup?"
"Alright. Are you sure you have everything you need"
"Yes I'm positive, Ryleigh and I went through the bag yesterday"
"Okay, just remember whats the number one rule while you're on the ice playmaker?"
"Don't skate with my head down dad. I know I know" Sami answered.
As they pulled up to the ice rink Sami began to get excited and pumped up. Sami jumped out of the truck as soon as Mr. Lhotak parked and yelled
"see you guys after the game!"
Sami ran into the locker room with all of her teammates on the Pirates. Ryleigh took a seat in the stands and Mr. Lhotak wondered around talking to parents of other players on the pirates. An hour has passed and now the teams are standing on each blue line with their hands over their hearts in honor of the National Anthem. As soon as that ended the teams did their warmup and the captain and the alternate captains shook hands.
The first lines of each team took the ice. Shortly after the puck was dropped. You could hear Ryleigh in the entire rink chanting
"let's go captain Sami let's go!"
Number 72 passes the puck to Lhotak 87. Sami shoots the and the puck flies right passed the goalies glove. Ryleigh cheers
"Yeaaah! That's how it's done keep it up Pirates!"
Ryleigh takes a quick look to her left and is in aw. She thinks she see Sidney Crosby. Sami's idol, Sami's everything. All in instinct Ryleigh runs up to him and as she gets closer, she realizes it's really him. Before Ryleigh said a word Sidney said
"Hello how can I help you?" With a polite tone to his voice.
"Hello Sidney, I know this is going to be a very big pain, but my best friend Sami Lhotak is honestly in love with you. You're her idol. Everyday people give her a hard time because we live in Chicago and she likes you and the Penguins. She defends you everyday. She'd do anything for you. I'm asking you to please wait until this game is over. It's her first playoff game. Please Sidney. Trust me you'll make her whole life if you just wait and say hello and maybe sign her jersey and take a picture." Ryleigh begged.
"Of coarse I'll wait. Where are you sitting ill watch the rest of the game make sure not to make her look over here so it's a complete surprise."
Oh my god, thank you so so so much Sidney I can't believe you're actually doing this. You're so polite. You're a great hockey player too."
"Thanks, who scored the goal?" Sidney asked curious.
"Sami. She has number eighty seven for you too."
"I've never seen a girl like her so passionate and talented with hockey."
"'Me either until I met her. It's amazing." Ryleigh replied.
The game ended. The pirates came on top with a score of 3-0. Sami had a goal and an assist. All of the Pirates walked off of the bench and into the locker room to get undressed. All of the Pirates came out before Sami. Sami took longer because she cleaned the looker room. Sami came out of the locker room and gave the key to the front desk. Ryleigh guided Sami into the looker room hallway where nobody would be but somebody special.
