I wipe the sweat from my forehead and drink the last of my water as I continue walking down the road. My car broke down and I couldn't get cell service so I started walking. But now I've been walking for miles and drank all my water. It's probably 90 some degrees out and I'm now carrying most of my clothing.
I try to wave down a car but it just keeps moving and I sigh in frustration. As I keep walking I begin to feel hopeless and wonder if I should just turn back. That's when a pickup slows down and rolls down the window, revealing a very creepy man.
"Hey sweetheart, you need a ride?" He asks.
"No I'm good. My friend is on their way." I lie, not looking at him.
"Why don't you hop in and I'll keep you company while you wait." He says.
"No thanks." I say again. That's when he pulls over and gets out of the car. I just keep walking.
"Hun, you shouldn't be out here on your own it can be dangerous." He says and grabs my shoulder.
"I can handle it." I say and pull away and quicken my pace.
"Oh, you can, huh?" He asks.He grabs the flannel tied around my waist and pulls me towards him. I hit him trying to get away and begin to panic, knowing I have no chance against him as he's about double my size.
"Oh, come on baby-"
"Hey! Get away from her, you son of a bitch!" A husky voice yells.
"Mind your business, asshole!" The man shouts back and pulls me close to him.
"Let go!" I shout and try to hit him again.Suddenly there's another man standing right next to us.
"I think you should let go of her." He says calmly, his voice deep and rough.
He places two fingers on his forehead and the man goes down.
"What the hell?" I think but quickly move past it.
I hug the man who just saved me.
"Thank you!" I say.
When I pull away I get a good look at him. He has very dark hair and is wearing a suit and a tan trench coat. He has bright blue eyes and seems very serious.
"Are you okay?" The other man asks walking closer.
"Now I am. Thank you so much." I say.
"No problem." He says. "I'm Dean and this is Castiel."
"I'm (Y:N)." I say and shake his hand.I look at him as well. He is wearing jeans, a T-shirt, and an unbuttoned flannel. He has dirty blonde hair and piercing green eyes. They both appear to be fairly fit men and are both very attractive.
"So why are you out walking along the side of the road? Was that your car a few miles back?" Dean asks.
"Yes. It broke down and there's no service out here." I explain.
"Well I'm pretty good with cars. How 'bout we take you back to your car and I look at it for you?" Dean offers.
"Sure. That'd be great." I agree.
"Castiel you can sit in the back." Dean says and we all get in the car.We turn around leaving the man to lay there. When we get to my car Dean looks under the hood but can't fix it.
"It looks like your radiator is shot. Where are you headed?" Dean asks.
"Sioux Falls, South Dakota area. I have family up there." I tell him.
"We're actually headed there too. Do you just want to ride with us?" He asks.
"Sure that'd be great. But I don't want to burden you at all." I say.
"How about you buy me some pie at the next cafe we stop at and we call it even?" He offers.
I laugh lightly. "Sure. Sounds like a deal."I grab what I need from my car and hop back into the front seat of the impala. Then we head on our way.
Castiel sits silently in the back seat while Dean and I talk in the front. There's something about Dean that just makes me feel comfortable and feel like I could trust him with anything. We talk about random shit until we pull into a cute little diner. We all get out and go inside. It's basically empty with only one guy sitting at the counter and the waitress behind it. I go to a random booth and slide in.
"Mind if i sit next to you?" Dean asks.
"Not at all." I smile at him.Dean slides into the booth sitting fairly close, considering how large the seat was, but I really didn't mind. Castiel sits across from us and looks around.
"This place is very dirty." He says plainly.
"Yeah but I heard that the burgers are amazing." Dean says, clearly not caring about the cleanliness of the building. The waitress comes over to us and takes our order. Dean and I both get a burger and fries but Castiel just orders some coffee and continues looking around the diner. After sitting in silence for a few moments I decide to break it by asking them about what they do for work. This seems to bring Castiel's focus back to the table but Dean starts talking before Castiel can.
"We actually work for the FBI. We go undercover and hunt out the bad.. people they can't find." Dean says.
"That's kind of cool. So are you on a case now?" I ask.
"No we are going home. We are finally getting a little break." Castiel says.I simply nod.
"What do you do?" Castiel asks me.
"Well I was a waitress but I've been trying to produce a book. So I'm going to Sioux Falls to meet up with a guy that's going to help me with that." I explain.
"That's interesting. What's the book about?" Dean asks.
"Me in a way. I took my life and twisted it to make it more interesting..." I explain my book until the waitress brings our food.
"I don't like to read but even I think it sounds good." Dean says before biting into his burger.
"Thanks." I say and bite into mine.We eat and talk for awhile. I buy Dean a slice of pie and we get back on the road. At some point I fall asleep and when I wake up we are pulling up to a motel.
"Do you want you're own room or are you fine with staying in mine?" Dean asks, placing his hand on my knee.
I look from his hand to his face and smile.
"I'll stay with you." I say.
"Okay I'll be right back." He says and goes into the lobby. When he comes out he grabs a duffle bag from the backseat and we go inside.
To be continued...
