"It was a strange few weeks... Four months ago people in town started disappearing without a trace. Shortly after two men, very handsome men, showed up and started asking around. No one would tell them anything because around here we keep our business to ourselves. But my brother was one of the many that had gone missing so when they stopped at my door I was more than willing to tell them what I knew."
****
-KNOCK-KNOCK-I walk to the door and open it. There are two men standing there in full suits holding up badges, that are obviously fake, but I let them give their speech.
"Hello ma'am, I am Agent Smith and this is agent Jackson. We're from the FBI and would like to ask you a few questions about the disappearances." The tall one says.
"First off, I know you're not FBI and so does everyone else. FBI was here earlier and declared all this was, was a run away spree. Second, if you want me to answer your questions tell me who you really are and why your here." I say and they both look surprised.
"I'm Sam and this is Dean. We have a family business where we go around and solve crimes that the FBI gives up on." Sam says. I knew it wasn't true but I was desperate so I let them in.
"Just sit on the couch I'll get you some snacks." I say and go to the kitchen.
I put some cookies on a plate, grab the pitcher of lemonade from the fridge, and grab 3 cups. I put it all on a tray and take it out to them. They stop talking suddenly when I walk in. I set the tray on the table and Dean starts eating. Sam thanks me but doesn't take anything and starts asking me questions.
He talks about how they know that Steve, my brother, was living with me and ask if he was acting weird. They were normal questions.. at first. Then they started getting weird.
"Did he start getting headaches from the sun or get weird around blood?" Dean asks.
"What?? Why would that matter?" I ask.
"It's just part of the routine." Sam says.
"Okay. Yeah he got headaches a lot but it runs in the family. He's fine with blood. Any other 'routine' questions?" I ask.
"Did he suddenly get really hairy and/or violent?" Sam asks.
"Do you remember smelling sulfur or rotten eggs recently?" Dean asks.
"What the hell are these questions? I know these are not real questions that any cop type people would ask. Tell me the truth or get out of my house." I say getting fed up with their bull.
****
"After a while they finally told me the truth. I couldn't believe it at first. They claimed that they hunted monsters and demons. It was totally impossible. Those things aren't real. Or at least I didn't think they were."
****
"Okay. You guys are insane. Like you need therapy." I say standing up quickly, they stand up with me."Hey hold on (y/n)." Dean says.
"No. you guys need help." I say again.
"Yes and that's why we came to talk to you. You were one of the last people to see your brother and we are trying to find him." Sam says.
"Do you want to find your brother or not?" Dean asks."Of course I do! But you guys are nuts!" I say.
"Okay don't believe us but still answer our questions and we'll help you find him." Sam says.
****
"So I answered all of their questions and they left. But shortly after they left I had the strangest feeling of being watched. They had left their number incase I needed it. But I was too stubborn to call. I thought it was nothing or if it was that I could handle it. Oh but I was wrong, very wrong."It had been a few days since they Winchester's visit and that creepy feeling had not gone away."
****
-BANG!-
The door is kicked in as I am curled up in the corner with a knife. I stand up quickly ready to stab whatever had chased me in here when I realize it's Dean. My heart leaps and I drop the knife and hug him.He pulls me into the living room and pours a circle of salt telling me to stay inside. Sam stands near the circle while Dean puts salt along the door and windows. I don't know what is happening but I know it is not natural. That's when I see him. Jeffery Thomas.
****
"Jeffery Thomas was the last man to be publicly hanged in the town square. Several years after he had been hanged they found evidence proving his innocence. So his ghost started killing the families in charge of his death. One of those was mine. The brothers explained this to me while we were fighting the damn thing off."The salt started blowing away and it was getting closer and closer. Suddenly I was flung into a wall. I was looking into his eyes and I knew he was going to kill me when he burst into flames. I dropped to the floor and cried.
"I ended up breaking my arm and the boys dropped me off at the hospital on their way out of town.
"A few days after they left, the police found all of the missing people in a cave just out of town. When the police told me that my brother wasn't in the shed I freaked so they through me in here. But I called Sam and Dean so they'll find him." I finish.
"(y/n), you can't blame this on the police men. This is not their fault. You just have a very active imagination." Dr. Castiel tells me.
"No. No! It's true. They said they'd come back! They said they would help me get through this!" I shout.
"Calm down." He says calmly. "They're right on the other side of that glass. Do you want them to come in before your treatment?"
"Yes." I say looking at the window then the door.
They both walk in and I am washed with relief. They both smile weakly at me.
"Hi (y/n). We have some bad news." Sam says.
"If Steve is hurt that's totally fine. I'll help him get better." I say.
"He's hurt but he doesn't feel a thing." Dean says.
"How is that possible?" I laugh.
"When we found him. He was about four miles from the shed. It looked like he had tried to escape but..." Sam starts.
"But what?!" I start panicking.
"He didn't make it. He was killed." Dean says.
I scream and fall to the ground. I am crying harder than I ever have. But Dr. Castiel helps me back into my chair.
"Now for your treatment. This will be the final one and you won't even remember the rest of them." And with that he placed his fingers on my forehead and everything went blank.
The next thing I know is that I am laying on my bed, last five months a blur and I can't remember anything.
A/N: How did you like that? I thought I'd put a twist on things. I feel like the Winchester brothers have probably screwed up a few people on their way to where they are and I thought I'd make that a story.
