HEY! AUTHOR'S NOTE HERE.
It isn't necessary, but I highly suggest you listen to Twice's Melting/Ice Cream before reading this chapter. I attached it to the top (I'm nice see) and it really fits the mood of this chapter (plus Tzuyu gets half a verse of lines :D ahem ahem) so uh give it a listen, I guess!
Anyway, here's Chapter 9!
.xXx.
This sad melody resembles you, it makes me cry. Your scent is a sweet felony, I hate you so much but I love you.
Jisoo slept on the couch that day, just to avoid Jennie. She would have slept out in a motel, but that would mean that she would need cash, all of which was back in the bedroom, and she didn't want to lose face by just barging back in and saying oh and by the way, I'll need my wallet. I'm still mad at you!
(That was, however, and option she was considering in the minutes that followed their argument, which she'd decided against due to the sheer stupidity of it.)
Yet, when she woke up, a good portion of Jennie's clothes were packed, and both suitcase and girl were gone, gone to New York.
It's okay. You'll just make up when she's back. It'll blow over, you were a bit harsh yesterday. She was just caring for you, after all.
And so, blasting a random playlist on her phone, she went about with her day. She had begun to find comfort in the emptiness, and as she started working on her accounts, she felt nothing—none of the loneliness she felt at first.
"Goddammit," she groaned, leaning back in her seat to stretch. You can't just give math to a Liberal Arts major and expect them to get along, things just didn't work that way.
Out of the corner of her eye, Jisoo saw the framed photo of her and Jennie on the counter. It wasn't there before—it had been on the bedside table for as long as she could remember. Frowning, Jisoo got up and walked over to it, picking it up. She didn't notice that the back was loose, and both photo and back tumbled onto the floor with a thud. A piece of folded paper slowly fluttered out from beneath the photo, and a puzzled Jisoo set down the other half of the frame and picked it up.
It was a letter, written in the familiar, neat handwriting that belonged to none other than Jennie, Kim. Jisoo read through it, puzzled at first, but then slowly that morphed into longing. Longing for her girlfriend, currently hundreds of feet in the air, on her way to another country.
Dammit, I just can't stay mad at you, can I?
