Chapter 2

Alec saw Kiera standing by a lamppost, waiting for him. He nodded at her "Hey." he noticed she was reading something. Alec glanced at the pages "What's that?" Kiera closed the magazine

"None of your business." Alec sighed "Look, I'm on your side, Kiera." she nodded "I know." The boy genius bit his lip "So, uh, how's other me doing?"

"He's working in the lab. I'd advise you to not let him see you." Alec nodded, Kiera continued "Besides, he and I have something that you and I don't." Alec looked confused

"What's that?"

"Trust." Alec heaved a sigh and stood up. Kiera looked at him "Be careful, Alec. Stay safe." Alec nodded and slightly smiled "I will." he started to walk away.

"Alec." he turned around and looked at Kiera, he sighed and nodded "I know, don't let me from now see me. I'll see you around, Kiera."

Kiera's POV

"Kellogg!" Matthew Kellogg, one of the Liber8 members turned and looked at me. I came toward him "Don't you find it an unfortunate coincidence that you were there when Escher died?" Kellogg laughed

"I don't know what you're talking about, Kiera." I stepped closer to him "You killed him, or had him killed. Escher is Alec's father." he raised his brows and slowly nodded

"That I did not see coming." I nod "Now, your little business deal with Alec is gonna be a lot tougher if he finds out you killed his dad." Kellogg nodded "Yeah. I see where you're getting at now, Protector."

I look Kellogg dead in the eyes "Our deal, is the same. Stay away from Alec."
