The Frightening Business: The Secret Room

Chapter 1

"It will not be long," said a soft voice next to Julian. Julian got up and took his bag. He went out of the house without locking it because he knew that his mother was going back soon. He hurried to get to John's house. He knocked on the door and the door opened slowly. Julian approached but noticed that it was not John who was at the door but an unknown woman with brown hair wearing a big pink skirt, her eyes were brown and she looked worried. His hands were shaking."Uh, hello, is John here?" Julian asked a little surprised not to see John. The woman approached slowly and did not answer for a few seconds. "John is in the bakery, he went to get some bread." Answered the woman finally with a very high voice. "Well, then I'll wait for him." The woman looked angry and her hands grabbed the door violently. "You can wait inside if you wish, I will not want to leave the door open too long ..." said the woman quickly. Julian was a little scared but entered anyway. He looked around and noticed that John's house had changed dramatically, the frames were no longer there, instead there were paintings and animal figures. The house was darker and the floor was dirty. "Uh, but who are you?" Julian asked rather disturbed. The woman turned to Julian with a scary look that was uncomfortable Julian. "I'm John's aunt, and I'm here because I have to help him move." John quickly added, "Move? John never tell me about moving, moving out of New York?" "Yes, we're going to Toms River because John feels spied here and he's being harassed here, so I help him move there, where he wants to be." Julian remembered that he too was moving to Toms River, which relieved him quickly. Julian wanted to quickly find out why John was being harassed and spied on but the door opened. And a very tall boy with blond hair wearing a black sweater and short pants. It was John who came back with a plastic bag where the bread was. "Hi Julian!" John shouted happy to see him. Julian hugged John and told him quickly that he too would move to Toms River. It did not seem to please John, he was rather disappointed with this news. "Uh, but why are you going there?" asked John. "To see my old friends, more New York starts to annoy me, you know ... it does not bother you?" "No, no, it's ... cool," lied John. "Listen, you should leave me, I'll get my things ready and my aunt has to clean the house before I leave." "Ok, so hi ..." Julian came out of the house and knew something was wrong with John. He was sad, dissatisfied and even lost. Julian took the bus and departed for Toms River.
The trip lasted ten hours, Julian while traveling to listen to music, then ate his sandwiches a little. When the bus arrived, Julian came out quickly eager to see his new home. When he arrived and entered the house, Julian quickly visited all the rooms and threw himself in his bed. He picked up his phone and sent a message to all his old friends that he had arrived: Daniel, Max, Kevin, Elisa and Susie. Julian sat down, put his clothes on and took a shower and went to bed.
"I need you"
"You are the one who can save me"
"You know my name"
"I know that you hear me"
These voices are repeated in Julian's head every night, making nightmares or strange dreams. This voice was that of his sister who died under the rails of a train. It had happened at a train station, where Julian and his family had to go to Washington, his sister Emma had fled to catch her dog but she fell on the rails when a train arrived. This scene had tromatised Julian all his life. Julian ended up paying more attention to these voices. The psychologist said it was not his sister but just the fear he felt, what his sister said when she needed him. But she is dead so she can not ask for help. She is well above. Julian had woken up at 8AM to hurry to see Daniel, he was going to arrive in a few minutes. Julian dressed quickly and rushed to store his belongings and stood by the door waiting for Daniel's arrival. Someone knocked a few minutes later, Julian quickly opened the door and hugged Daniel. Daniel was almost the same size as Julian, Daniel used to be dressed for the summer, he lived with his dog he called: "Christian".
"Nice to see you again Julian!" Daniel shouted with a big smile. "How was the trip?" Alright, "Julian also replied with a smile, and they sat down in the living room on the couch and talked to each other about their daily newspapers, studies, technology and time, then Emilie and Kevin came in. It was a good time for Julian to see his friends again, unfortunately one person was missing, it was Susie. She was still working.
And Max was Susie's boyfriend. They work together in a laboratory because they are both interested in science and chemistry. They work from morning to night all week except weekends. Normally they should arrive at Julian's late at night so at midnight. Meanwhile Julian and his band of friends had a barbecue and introduced the city to Julian.

It's midnight. Susie and Max still have not returned, which worried a little Julian.
"They will eventually arrive," Kevin said with a reassuring voice. A few minutes passed and finally the door opened, it was Susie and Max dressed both in the same style.
"Sorry for the delay ... we had to finish the test today but we did not have enough time, otherwise how are you?" Susie asked to see her friends again. All answered that they were well. Susie proposed to party together in an unusual place, an old abandoned park called "Monkey's Park" which was not far from Daniel's house.
"I do not think it's a good idea, this place is forbidden to access more, there are certainly cameras in the neighborhood, if someone sees that we try to enter the building, they will certainly to see us, "added Elise.
"Do not worry, I know how to get in without getting noticed, we will not stop this party just for that? I buy 10 flashlights for nothing?" Susie answered. "Plus there's some great stuff there, arcade games, attractions and ...", Susie's voice stopped. "And ...?" asked Daniel.
"Some ... uh, animatronic!"
"Ah ... great, I'm not going there." Julian said directly.
"Are you afraid of animatronics? LOL, they will kill you and hide you in costumes." Max laughed.
"Max, it's not funny, it's just that my sister liked the place like that and it reminds me of bad memories ... you know ..." Julian said weakly.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I did not want to remind you of that, but please come with us it'll be cool, you will not have to think about that." Max answered. "Yeah, besides I saw that the building was very spacious and there were two floors of games." Susie added.
"Well, I'll go if you're happy to go there." answered Julian. Everyone prepared their stuff to go, but suddenly the voice of his sister said in his head:
You don't need to be affraid of this accident, it make me more powerfull...
