Chapter 8

"Wow." Was the only thing Chance could think to say as they sat around the dining room table staring at the recorder.

They had just listened to the evp session. Chris had talked to them!!!!

No one knew what to say. There were no tears only blank expressions on their faces. No one moved.

"What do we do now?" Austin asks, never taking his eyes off the recording device.

"I don't know." Tim says with a slight shrug.

"How are you feeling, Tim?" Avi asks.

"I don't know. I'm excited, I'm scared, I'm sad. I really don't know how to feel." Tim says. "I was wanting to know and now that I do..... (he shrugs).

"Explain your feelings." Avi says.

"I'm excited just knowing that he's here. But then I'm sad because he hasn't moved on. He's staying here because of me." Tim answers as he turns his wedding band on his finger.

"Why are you scared?" Adam asks.

"The unknowing, I guess. Like, what's going to happen now." Tim says with a shrug of his shoulders.

"What do you think will happen if you find someone else, eventually?" Austin asks. "I mean, years down the road, you may remarry. It happens all the time."

"I don't ever see myself ever finding anyone else." Tim says sadly.

"Now you don't know that, Tim." Adam says as he reaches over and squeezes his brother-in-law's hand. "I think that if you do fall in love again that Chris, once that he sees that you're happy and being taken care of, that he'll move on."

"But do I want him to?" Tim asks as tears fill his eyes.

They fall silent. Chance speaks, breaking the silence.

"Well, I do know it's one in the morning. It's been a long night and we all need some sleep." Chance says. "Come on, Timmy, I'll help you to bed."

Chance helps Tim undress. He goes to the dresser to grab a pair of sleep pants as he turns around he notices Tim nervously looking around.

"Are you alright, Cuz?" Chance asks.

"Yeah, I guess. It just feels a little weird to know that you have a ghost hanging out in your bedroom." Tim chuckles slightly.

"But this is a friendly ghost." Chance smiles. "One that loves you very much."

Chance helps him put on the sleep pants and Tim slips on a tee shirt. He pulls his legs into bed and gets comfortable.

"Do you need me to stay with you?" Chance asks.

"No, I'll be alright. I'm not alone." Tim says with a smirk.

"Okay, good night." Chance says as he heads out the door, closing it behind him.

Tim let's go of a shaky breath as he pulls the covers up around him. Why was he so scared? It's Chris. Could it be the thoughts of Esther Rose molesting him that had him so scared? Would it be that way if Chris touches him?

"Are you watching me?" Tim asks quietly. "You know that's kinda freaky, right?" He smiles. "Good night, Sweetheart."

Tim was sleeping soundly when he feels someone sit down on the edge of the bed. He gasps as he quickly sits up and turns on the lamp next to his bed.

He looks around expecting to see Chance or Adam or someone sitting on his bed. But there was no one there. Was he dreaming?

Maybe he was dreaming. He starts to reach for the lamp but glances back around at the bed. That's when he notices it. An indentation on the bed as if someone was sitting on it.

"Chr...Chris?" Tim asks as he tries to calm his breathing. He slowly reaches over and feels that it's much colder where the indentation was. He quickly withdraws his hand. "Please, let that be you."

"Tim."

Tim looks around in a panic when he hears a voice call his name.

"If this is a joke, Austin, it's not the least bit funny." Tim says.

He feels fingers gently brush through his hair. The touch was so familiar. Chris.

Tim immediately calms down as he leans into the touch.

"If you ever scare me like that again, I will sage the whole place." Tim chuckles.

Tim calmly lies down and smiles as he feels Chris lie down beside him.

"Wow, that's crazy." Rob says as Chance lets him and Kelsey listen to the recording from last night.

"It's scary but exciting at the same time." Kelsey replies.

"That's what Tim said." Chance nods.

"He even moved a picture frame." Austin says. "I thought I was just imagining it at first."

"I would imagine that we'll all start to see things that will make us think we're crazy." Avi says.

"Then you'll know how I feel." Adam smiles as he kisses his boyfriend's cheek.

"Is Tim awake yet?" Rob asks as he lays his daughter in the bassinet.

"I'll go check." Adam says as he gets up from the couch and heads to Tim's bedroom.

Adam quietly opens the door and stops, frozen in his steps. Covering his mouth with his hand, he slowly backs out of the room. Was he sure of what he just saw?

"Adam? Baby, are you okay?" Avi asks as he notices the shocked, pale look on his boyfriend's face. He looked as if he had literally just 'seen a ghost'.

"I ... I don't know." Adam answers with a slight head shake. 

"What's wrong? Is something wrong with Tim? Is he okay?" Chance says as he springs up from his seat.

"I ... I don't think he's alone." Adam says in a quiet voice.

"What do you mean? Of course, he's alone. I helped him to bed myself." Chance says as he heads to Tim's room with everyone following behind him.

Chance opens the door to the bedroom and they all stare in shock.

"Holy moly." Avi whispers softly.

Tim was sound asleep lying on his side. His head slightly laying on Chris's pillow. Beside him was an indentation on the bed as if someone was laying beside him. Tim's arm was laying as if he had it around someone's waist.

"He's not alone." Austin says in a whisper.

"He's snuggling with Chris." Adam says with a smile.
