You look up to find a pair of familiar, big brown eyes intently staring you down from across the room.
"Jeongguk-ah," you sigh, "how long have you been standing there?" You question as you try to hush the crying baby in your arms.
His eyes crinkle as a mischievous grin creeps onto his face. "Not that long."
You roll your eyes, turning away to gently place the squirmy baby into the wooden crib Yoongi had kindly gifted you when you were newly weds. With your back still turned, you hear Jeongguk's soft footsteps approach you.
His warm breath tickles your ear as he whispers, "I'm so lucky to have two beautiful girls in my life."
His sweet, melodic voice sends chills down your spine and you feel the start of a vibrant, red blush creep onto your burning cheeks. Completely oblivious to the effect his honey-like voice from moments before had on you, he starts up a new conversation. "Soooo," he drags out the 'o' as he turns you around. "How you been?" he continues, looking down into your eyes.
"T-tired," you stutter, as you gaze down at your toes, trying to control the butterflies summersaulting around your stomach.
He tilts your chin up towards him.
"What's wrong?" he asks, furrowing his eyebrows. "Why did you stutter?"
You stay silent. Continuing to avoid his eyes, you're afraid you'll stay a red tomato for the rest of your life as a result of his smooth, innocent charm.
"Ah," he says, his brain finally piecing it together.
You can practically hear the smirk oozing out of his voice as he states, "I'm just that good looking, huh?"
"Don't flatter yourself," you say, slapping his chest before walking towards the door.
"Yah!" He says grabbing your hand and pulling you back towards him. "I'm just teasing you!"
Crossing your arms, you let out a deep huff before redirecting your gaze up at him. Jeongguk flashes you an adorable, bunny-like smile before planting a kiss on your nose. "You're cute when your flustered."
"Stop that! S-stop with your cute little charms!" you protest, pointing your finger at him.
He raises an eyebrow, completely amused by your behavior. His dark brown eyes light up as an idea crosses his mind, a smirk creeping onto his lips.
"Okay," he whispers, taking a step forward.
Instantly, you become paralyzed. The burning sensation crawling its way back to your already bright, red cheeks. You silently curse under your breath as he inches closer. The little bastard knew what he was doing to you and he was enjoying every second of it.
"Jeongguk," you whisper but before you can let out another word he closes the gap between you and gently kisses you. His strong arms, snaking around your waist.
The warmth radiating off his body and his soft lips, fills you with happiness. His sweet embrace feeling like home. He slowly pulls away, smiling like an idiot. Proud of his little plan. You stand there dumbfounded. How is it that even after two years of being married, he never fails to surprise you and get your heart racing into a fluttering mess?
"I love you," he says pulling you back into his chest.
Nuzzling your head into the crook of his neck, you whisper back, "I love you too. You dork."
