"....my parents own this massive yacht where I host most of my parties. This one time even Drake attended. It was the sickest thing ever," he added.

I stifled back a yawn as I tried to give the tall, lean stranger in front of me my undivided attention. But the never-ending rambling about his high social status and the riches he'd inherited was starting to get on my nerves.

Once again, without fail, my best friend since kindergarten, Sei-yeon, had managed to find the most egocentric prick in the room. Sei-yeon had a bad reputation for finding the jackasses of this world alluring.

And although I'll admit he was pretty attractive, looks aren't everything.

I gazed at the newcomers encircled around me with bewilderment. It was ridiculous how much these young women swooned over his shallow words. Soaking them up like a sponge.

No longer engaged in the conversation, my eyes wandered about the room. Large rounded floor to ceiling windows placed on either side of the building gave sight to a beautiful balcony outside. Giant potted plants situated every few feet alongside the railing added some greenery to the scene.

At the far end of the room sat an elegant staircase leading up to the second floor. The red carpet laid atop its grand marble steps allured guests to a never ending wind of hallways and dorms.

Alongside it on a small wooden platform was a live orchestra. The musicians swayed side to side, flashing wide smiles to one another as they immersed themselves into the upbeat, jazzy music. The melody creating a warm, lively atmosphere.

What drew the most attention, however, was the wide space in the center of the room. The reflective, granite floor made for the happy, twirling feet of its guests glistened from the chandelier's bright lights. Behind the glow sat a clear mirror image of a giant, smeraldo flower mid-bloom painted on the ceiling. Its pastel blue colors reflected onto the floor created an absolutely breath taking view.

I catch sight of my own reflection on the ground. My round brown eyes wide in awe as I observe all the intricate details. Pushing aside my bangs from my face, I glance back up at the people around me. Swaying bodies dressed in an array of brightly colored, frilly, close-fitting garments had crowded about the dance floor as new eyes settled upon new faces. Excitement and wonder about what this formal night would entail evident on their animated expressions.

A few young men and women stood idly along the wide, plain marble pillars scattered about the room as they made small talk with those around them, a champagne drink in hand.

One way or another, we'd all been invited to the smack dab center of Seoul to attend a formal dance with complete strangers. Our only connection with one another was our love for music. The gathering was hosted by a young man trying to raise money for a small entertainment company by the name of Big Hit. All proceeds, in the form of our invitational ticket, would be given to Big Hit and it's trainees.

Truly, spontaneity at its finest.

Catching sight of a waiter bringing in a tray full of sushi, I could feel the saliva in my mouth begin to accumulate. My stomach let out a low, inaudible grumble as my eyes intently followed his graceful figure to a wooden table full of refreshments.

I gently nudged Sei-yeon.

She turned around. "What?" she whispered through gritted teeth as she forced a smile. "I'm kind of busy," she nudged her head towards the boy behind her.

"I'm going to get some food," I whispered, pointing over to the buffet of snacks a little ways behind us. She nodded, giving me a sarcastic thumbs up before averting her attention to the jerk in front of us.
