"Our love is six feet under,
I can't help but wonder if our grave
was watered by the rain,
would roses bloom?"

It was just one of those days that you know you're going to regret when you wake up. For Maverick, those days just seemed to keep coming. He had woken up on the wrong side of his bed, with his hair sticking up in every single different direction. It was a brisk morning in Nedora, and he had forgotten to close the window before he had gone to sleep. He pulled a sweater over his head and pulled the door open to lean into the hallway. He looked left and then right, before deciding to go see if Vie had started making breakfast yet. She was in the kitchen, stirring something he had never seen before in a pot.

"Good morning, do you need any help?" his voice was kind of loud, and it made her jump and drop her spoon into the pot.

"Oh! Good morning, Maverick. No thank you, it's kind of a one person job when you're making this. Plus I wouldn't want you to worry over something that I can do just fine on my own." She smiled and slid a small plate of bread and cheese to him. She had one of those smiles that made you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

"Is anyone else awake? I couldn't hear anything." He took a bite of the slightly sweet bread, she told him on their first morning here that the secret to perfect sweet bread was honey.

"No, I haven't seen anyone, but that doesn't mean that they aren't up. Sometimes it takes them a while to get out of bed, they prefer to go back to sleep after they rise with the sun." She had retrieved her spoon from the pot and was stirring the food once again.

"I think I'm going to make my friends go with me to the market today, do you want me to pick anything up?" He had stopped asking if she wanted to go places pretty soon after he got here. He noticed she didn't really like to leave the hotel with her siblings.

"Actually yes, I think I need some more honey. If you don't mind of course." There was that smile again. He returned the smile this time.

"Good morning," the smell of Ria's perfume soon swirled around him as she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed his cheek. "How did you sleep?"

"Good, better now that I don't have to share a bed with you." He kissed the back of her hand that was closest to his mouth. He could hear Vie chuckle from the stove.

"I hope my brother has given you reasonable quarters, and that you're getting the sleep you need." she turned back and winked at Ria, who just smiled.

The rest of the heist group wasn't long behind Ria. Iz and D stumbled out of their room together, trying to hide the fact that Iz was wearing the shirt D had been wearing last night. They made eye contact and she winked at him, before plopping down on the couch with a book. Cyr and Sol entered the dining room, attached at the hip as they had been for the entirety of this trip. Sol ran her fingers through his hair and he grinned up at her. She blew him a kiss as she and Cyr made their way to the couch opposite Iz.

"So I was thinking we could all go to the market today? Since we haven't been and I've heard nothing but good things, and since the heist is tomorrow I figure we won't have time to go once we get done." He shrugged and he could feel Ria smile.

"I think that's an amazing idea. I'm going to go get ready, we'll leave after breakfast." she scampered off to the room she and Vince had been sharing since they got here.

Breakfast went quick, like usual. Everyone was quiet because they were too busy stuffing their faces. Vie's siblings had joined them and he was seated at the table next to her younger sister. Valencia. Her left hand slipped under the table to rest on his thigh, he moved his right to lace his fingers through hers. she rubbed her thumb across his knuckles. She was wonderful. He hadn't ever had this much fun with one person in his whole life. It had been nearly a month since they had met, and since then he was almost always seen with a perma-grin. She was stunning, and she always had something to say. He loved looking at her, with her light dusting of freckles and dark eyes. He felt lucky to even be in the same room as her.
