Emaline is just getting over a very crucial part of her life when her and her bestfriend Ana decide to go clubbing one night they end up getting kidnapped.

The club is in full swing once we get through the door. It was as if somebody put some kind of magical fairy dust into everyone's drinks, everyone was smiling and dancing on the dance floor. "What can I get you pretty ladies?" A man in all black asks from behind the bar. "Two Shirley temples?" He nods and gestures us to sit down. I look over at Ana who is sniffing that air.
Kind of reminds me of this morning. "Do you smell that?" Her voice is laced with some type of pleasure, I shake my head turning back around as the bartender sits our drinks down. "You all enjoy now." There's a knowing smirk on his face like his words have a double meaning, but I am probably just worked up from earlier. I smile back at him and sip my drink, I look over at Ana to find her talking to a guy our age while sipping her drink. "When I said 'I hope to be seeing more of you.' I didn't think it would be in the same day." That same Autumn scent hints at the air as a familiar voice jokes behind me. I spin around to see James smirking at me "Yeah me either." He's wearing a leather jacket at the moment and the scent is still lingering. "Are you wearing cologne?" The question gets blurted from my mouth, he chuckles and shakes his head no, while taking a seat beside me. I shrug and take another sip only to realize it was empty. I look up to find a bartender but there's already a drink in front of me. Confused I look over at Ana, she too has another drink in front of her. "They work fast around here." His voice has a hint of humor to it, something in me is telling myself to accept it, and I do.
"So when did you move here?" I ask turning back to James. "About a week ago, school just let out when I moved here." He says scratching the back of his neck. "Oh we just graduated yesterday. I also turned eighteen!" I blurt out another sentence. What is wrong with me? "Well let me get you a belated birthday drink." Just as the words come out of his mouth the drink appears, they work really quick. This drink is an orange color, kind of like fall.
I take the drink from his hands and look at it. "This is called Jack O' Lantern. Its my favorite drink, tasteful really." He says smiling. I down the whole drink and the taste erupts in my mouth, and for a moment I can truly taste fall. I look at James, his smile says it all. I feel my own face mimic his. "Emaline come dance with me." Ana says pulling my arm. "Brother." The guy she's been talking to greets James. "Alec." Is James' response. Ana waves at James and then pulls me from my spot and onto the dance floor.
A song unlike any other song comes on and it feels as though the music itself is moving my body. Ana giggles as she moves her body hypnotically as do I. A second later there's hands on my waist and know who it is just by the scent that seems to follow him. I look over at Ana again to see she's dancing with Alec.
In the midst of having fun I feel a wave of dizziness go through me, I see Ana stop as well. "Looks like both of you had more Cisceline than you thought." Alec laughs and looks down at Ana. "Cisceline?" I question or I think I did. "Its a dust us creatures use to have fun. Since mortal's alcohol doesn't get us drunk. Very high for mortals." James replies, brushing hair out of my face, the sparks from earlier are back. "I'm sorry Emaline I really am, but its for a good cause." The last thing I see before my world goes black is two bright blue eyes looking down at me sorrowful.
