Chapter 5: School of misery

Today is the day when I return to school without Principal Love. I pray everyday to hope he comes back to school to see me and the others again. I still remember the day when Principal Love was taken away by police all thanks to Jessie and Slain. On the bright side, we have Principal Checkers, who can help take over the school until he returns.

When I arrive at the school I saw Principal Checkers at the front entrance waving at me. Like usual, I wave back to him but I didn't make a smile. We start having a conversation together while walking inside.

"So Mi-Chan, did you sleep at all last night?"

"Why'd you ask me that?"

"Well. Because Principal Love's gone, I bet a lot of students either didn't sleep well or maybe have a hard time thinking about something else."

"Oh Yeah. I remember. For some reason, I manage to sleep well last night. Maybe because I've been praying for him to come back."

"Could be. I noticed a lot of students not looking tired. Maybe I was wrong about them not sleeping well."

"I think they did the same thing that I did. Just pray for him to come back."

"That's true. Also Heaven called me and told me that he's not coming to school today. Maybe some of the students were staying home because of Principal Love not being here."

Me and him continue to talk for ten minutes before I head to my Chemistry class and talk to Professor Sweet since no one's going to be working on anything today. I saw him laying his head down showing that he really miss Principal Love. I decide to try and talk to him to cheer him up.

Gina touch my right shoulder, "I think we should leave him alone for right now."

I turn around, "Come on Gina-Sama. Sometimes it's best to talk to someone. You don't know what it's like to talk about something that can upset anyone. Besides. It's never easy to talk about it when they feel this way but, sometimes it's worth talking about it."

Gina looks down before she leaves to sit next to Alice and talk. I grab Professor Sweet's attention to hope he'll talk to me and share his feelings when Principal Love was not around. Professor Sweet begins to express his feelings about having Principal Checkers taking over the school instead of Principal Love.

"Oh hi Mi-Chan, I wasn't surprised to see you today. A lot of students here are absent today."

"I know. You really do miss Principal Love don't ya?"

Professor Sweet's tears fell from his face before hugging me, "YES I DO! I REALLY DO MISS HIM A LOT!" He bawls his eyes out.

"Aww, it's okay. I'm here for you. He'll be back here soon I know it."

He wipes his tears away, "It really does suck when Principal Love's not here."

"I know it does. We just got to get used to it until this Friday."

He looks at me, "Wait, he's coming back this Friday?"

"According to the police department, they said that he's going to be released at the end of this week."

He continues to look at me before he smiles, "I hope so. I bet there's someone else in there that'll keep him company all week. I really do hope he's okay. Even if something happens to him, I'm sure whoever's with him will be there to protect him."
