Finals Week

Study Group Assemble!

Saturday afternoon

    I opened up the fridge in search of some sort of food, but found nothing but frozen peas and crumbs. I decided to sit back on the couch and watch the last 15 minutes of Napoleon Dynamite until Ava and Lily came back. I hoped that they would come back with McDonald's or somthing.
   
     About 20 minutes after I was done watching Napoleon Dynamite, Ava came home and smacked her keys down on the counter and said, " Natalie, I was checking out some woman today and she was trying to get a discount because she had a kid with her. One kid. He was wearing jordans and looked like he was a couple months old. "
       "That's dumb. If you can't afford groceries, why does your newborn have Jordans?" I Agreed.      
Ava nodded.
       " Do you think think that I could take all of my vacation days days now to study?",  She sighed, " I really don't want to deal with people like that while I have to study. I never even studied before this, so it's a tough change. "
          "You might as well quit. Remember when you took one day off when you had the flu? Your boss was pissed. He almost fired you! I could probably loan you money for rent, anyway....." I reasoned. "How are you studying anyway? You work almost all day and sleep all the time..."
            "I don't. I need time. I'm just going to use the vacation days and hope that he's ok with it."
  
       I walked back into the living room with Ava and we watched an episode of The Office and then Lily came back . She headed towards the fridge, but I yelled across the room that we didn't have any food.
         "Well, were having peas for dinner. I've been thinking that we should make a study group one of these days. As we know, none of us are super smart, but we know smart people. I'm almost entirely relying on scholarships, so I NEED to get good grades. So we should put a ton of smart people together with us."

    This was the smartest thing I've ever heard Lily say. She was the smartest one in the room, but I never said that me or Ava were very smart.
     Within 15 minutes we had texted a couple people to join a study group with us. But, we forgot where we would study.
     "The park?" Ava suggested.
     "There are too many distractions there. We would be better off going to the rooms in the campus library that are designed for this sort of thing." Lily announced.
         "You have a point. We should tell them to meet us there tomorrow." I said, trying to be cheerful and ignore Lily's sarcastic statement.
