2- The Start of Something New

Y/N's POV

I woke up and looked to the couch Unicorn had been sleeping on the night before. But he wasn't there.

"Unicorn?" I whispered into my empty room. "Unicorn!" I called.

"Kitchen!" He yelled from the kitchen. I relaxed out my tension and went to the kitchen.

"Morning Uni" I yawned.

"Morning sleeping beauty" he replied. I smiled and noticed my step-mom at the waffle maker.

"Hi sweetie" she said "I'm finishing up the last waffle then I'm off to work" I nodded in reply.

"Why were you up so early Unicorn?" I asked.

"I woke up to help your mom make waffles" he replied. My step-mom nodded and turned around with two plates. I took mine and Unicorn took his.

"Oh" I said "thanks Elana" I said. She nodded and headed to the door. Unicorn and I sat at the table. We started eating breakfast and the door opened again, it was my dad coming home from his graveyard shift, he didn't say anything to us, nor did we say anything to him. We had a long awkward silence until he shut the bedroom door.

"Hopefully that was the right room" I sighed.

"What do you mean?" Unicorn asked.

"Well he's fallen asleep in my room before so I mean" I shrugged. He nodded not pressing the matter even further. Soon we finished and I ran off to my room to change.

Unicorn's POV

I sat on the couch in the living room, waiting for Y/N to finish changing, I noticed pictures of her around the room at a young age, most of the picture frames where broken or the glass protecting the picture was shattered or cracked.

"How does this all happen" I asked myself not knowing she was behind me. (You're life gets really depressing right now, sorry in advanced, but don't worry it helps your character).

"After my mom left my dad found a new wife, her and dad have gotten in a lot of arguments since I've started daycare" she said. I jumped, turning around. "When my dad doesn't work he buys a lot of alcohol and drinks it all, causing himself to get drunk" she said, I could hear in her voice she was on the verge of tears, my own face fell. "He does things that shouldn't be done and says things fathers shouldn't say to their children and husbands shouldn't be saying to their wives" tears started filling from her eyes, I rushed over to her, wrapping my arms around her.

"You don't have to tell me" I said. She smiled through her tears, I wiped her tears away as they fell.

"I have to tell someone sometime" She replied in a whisper.

"It doesn't have to be now" I replied. "Besides we have daycare"  She nodded as we walked to the front door.

About 30 minutes past and we arrived at daycare, it was empty.

"I think we might be early" She said. I nodded.

"My basement?" I asked. She nodded.

"Yeah!" She replied with a big bright beautiful smile. We walked down to the basement and her eyes lit up.

"You like it down here?" I asked.

"I love it" she said "you have so many cool things like a shrink ray, potions, a Condaroo! Those are like a million dollars how did you afford that?"

"I made it" I replied.

"Seriously?" She asked "next time invite me to watch you make things,I love all the science. Like the books and the making of things its all so magical to me"

"I totally will" I smiled "you can come down here whenever you want" I said, I self consciously started leaning in towards her.

"Great!" She smiled. Suddenly the door flew open.

"Hi Unicorn!" Ryan exclaimed. I jerked back, Ryan, he always ruins things, but what would have happened if he didn't interupt us.

"Ryan" I said.

"Hi Ryan!" Y/N exclaimed.

"Y/N! Wanna come play with me?" He asked.

"Sure! Uni wanna come, we could play a portal game" She said to me.

"If you want me to come, I figured you'd be tired of me by now, since I spent the night" I said.

"Of course I'm not tired of you, I'd love to play a game with you and Ryan" she said "where are the others?"

"Tina is waiting for us, Chicken got the bird flu, and Goldy is thowing up with food poisoning" Ryan said.

"Oh no" Y/N replied "I hope they get better" she had been walking closer to him, her hand was now on his arm soothingly. "C'mon Unicorn" she said. I walked forward, jealous of Ryan. Ryan grabbed her hand and pulled her upstairs. I ran after them, fuming.

"C'mon Tina we're going through the portal!" He called as we ran up stairs, Ryan let go of Y/N's hand and started shouting numbers, I held her back as the other's ran in.

"What is it Uni?" She asked looking at me.

"I wanna take you somewhere special but without Ryan and Tina" I said, walking into the portal control room, I flicked the lever a few times and it opened a compartment where I flipped another lever "there we can go now" he said. She nodded.

"Where is there?" She asked.

"A special place where we can go and my powers will work, and no one can judge us because we'd be alone" I said, I had only just noticed her Unicorn hood was down and her lavender hair was in her face, I blushed "g-give us the countdown" I asked her, she took my hand in her.

"In 5! 4! 3! 2! 1!" She yelled

"Gooo!" We yelled at the same time. We came back out with an "ahhhh" and we looked around.

"What is this place Unicorn?" She asked looking around.

"A place I accedently found a few years ago, it's the only demension I can use my powers in, I haven't taken anyone here" I explained, looking at her.

"Why me?" She asked.

"Huh?" I said looking at her.

"Why me?" She said again "why would you bring me here?"

"Because I told you your the most beutiful girl I've ever met" he said.

"You don't even know me" I said "we met yesterday"

"Well let's get to know eachother so I can love your personality too" I said, lifting  her up bridal style into my arms as I flew up. She giggled as we we went up. I soon wrapped my hands around her waist and rose her in the air and spun around before bringing her back into my arms. She smiled as she wrapped her arms and legs around me.

"Uni this is amazing" she said. I was flying backwards so she was ontop of me.

"Yeah it is" I said.

"Everything is so pretty" she said. I smiled.

"Including you" I said, I saw her blushing as my own cheeks heated up, we flew back to the ground on a little blanket I left a few years before and we talked, and talked until we finally new almost everything about eachother, down to the last detail. After a while Y/N fell asleep on my shoulder, I looked at my watch, real world time it said it was noon already, Ryan and Tina would have been back by now and I knew they would kill us for leaving them alone but I didn't care, right here in this moment with Y/N felt right, and for a second I forgot about the world around me, I forgot about Goldy and my main focus became making this girl mine and keeping away from her just friend/brother zone. I kissed her foreheard as I allowed my eyes to shut, darkness closing around me, I fell asleep, laying my head on her head.
