"For the twentieth time, you look fine Ronald!" I exclaimed "Jesus, I though girls were the ones who were like this."
Ron scoffed "Harry, this my first time meeting Lavender's parents. I need to make a good impression." He said, straightening his bow tie.
"I think Lavender'd rather you'd take those clothes off than leave them on." I snorted.

Ron's face turned the color of his hair "Shut up, Harry. You're lucky I'm even letting you come."
I rolled my eyes "You know you only invited me 'Cause 'Mione was at a bridal shower."
"Which, by the way, you should be attending right now."
"Yet-Here I am."

"Shit." Ronald muttered, looking at his watch "We're going to be late. Wait for me in the car."
I sighed and propped my hands on my knees, slowly getting up.
I still couldn't believe Ron was engaged. And to Lavender of all people! I mean, I don't have anything against her, but I just can't imagine them as a couple. I always thought he would end up with Hermione or at least someone who didn't cling to him like a monkey 24/7.

I got into his car, turning up the radio and nodding my head to the music. I thought about Ron. How, in a few weeks, he would be standing at the altar, me by his right side, and on his other side, would be his bride.
I just wished he hadn't sprung it on me so suddenly. So unexpectedly. So randomly.

I noticed the music came to a halt. Confused, I opened my eyes to be greeted my Ron's chocolate brown orbs.
"Ready Mate?" He asked.
"Ready." I confirmed.
He got in and started the engine, gripping the steering wheel and leaving behind his apartment.

"You got good music taste." Ronald commented.
"You think so?" I asked.
"Well...Yeah."
"So...you like Adele too?"
Ron chuckled "Who doesn't?"
I shook my head, grinning "I guess you've got a good point."
"Don't I always?"
I chuckled. "Yeah, sure - go ahead and keep on thinking that."

"So, I have a question for you, Harry . . ." Ron rubbed the nape of his neck, taking a deep breath.
"What is it, Ron?"
"Have - have you ever . . . done it before?"
I looked at him in a confused manner. "You mean? . . ."
"Yeah. I'm kind of nervous for my first time with Lavender." Ron admitted.
His comment made me blush. "I'm sorry, mate. I haven't had my first time either."
"Oh . . . Well, I have, but just once so I'm still kind of nervous for tonight."
I frowned. I knew I didn't have any right to be upset, since Ron wasn't my partner and would probably never be, but that didn't stop me from feeling jealous. "You never told me."

"Well, it was a few years ago. 'Mione and I had a go at it when we were together. It was a 'in the heat of a moment' thing and we broke up nearly almost afterwards, which is why I didn't think it was very relevant to tell you." Ron explained.

Crossing my arms, I frowned. My blood boiled at the very thought "I see. Well, I'm sorry I don't have any advice for you."
"S'okay." He gave a curt nod before making a turn "We're nearly there."
"Bloody Fantastic." I mumbled.

Ronald abruptly stopped the car on a crowded road. Loads of honks came from behind us, but Ron just ignored them.
"Harry! I hadn't said anything about so far, because I didn't want to argue on my wedding day, but mate - you're supposed to be harry for me! It's a special day in my life! But you've been so grumpy and quiet all the ride to here! And so...non-supportive!"
"I can't help it! You're engaged to the wrong person!"
"Then who am I suppose to marry?!" Ronald asked.

"Oh, I don't know-Perhaps somebody without a pea for a brain!"
Ron looked at me in shock as the guilt started to get to me.
"Ron...I-I didn't mean it."
"Why are you even here, Harry?" Ron whispered.
"Because you asked me to come along with you!" I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose "Why else?!"

"Because your suppose to!" Ron grumbled.
"Said who?!"
"Destiny!"
"Destiny can go fuck herself."
Just then, a lady outside near our car scoffed and walked away, head high in the air.

"Fine - because we're best mates!"
"Lately you seem to be preferring 'Mione, If you ask me! I'm only a backup for when she's not around!" Tears were threading to cross the barrier of my eyelashes. I turned my head away from Ron so he couldn't see.

"Harry, that's not true! Both of you are my best mates and I appreciate you both equally!" Ron insisted "But who else am I going to ask for dating advice? She has a lot of experience!"
"Well, maybe once in a while, you could ask the person sitting next to you! You're first best friend!"
Ron scoffed "You've never even taken out a girl, Harry!"

"Don't be so quick to assume I'm into girls!" I snapped.
I bit my lip as realization slowly hit Ronald "So, does this mean you're gay?"
"Now, let's not jump to conclusions..." Ron raised his eyebrows, making me trial off.
"Alright, Alright. I experience attraction to males and males only. So, yes-I'm Gay." I calmly stated.

Ron was a stuttering mess. When his silence started to make me uncomfortable, I sighed "Got a problem? Take it to the Ministry, Ronald!"
"I haven't got a problem! I'm just surprised. And kind of hurt you never thought of telling me before. I've known you for over a decade now."
"It's hard for me to talk about." I answered, averting my gaze from his.
"Why?" Ron asked, his voice soft and quiet.

"B-because I like . . . I like . . ."
Ron's eyes slowly widened. "Do you like . . .me?"

"What if I do?" I cocked an eyebrow.
"What if I don't?"
"Then I suggest you let me out of this damn car and go apologize to your damn fiancee for being late!" A few tears fell down my cheeks, but I quickly wiped them away.

"Harry...I..." Ron rubbed the back of his neck and look at me with sad eyes "I just...I don't know what I want."
"You seemed pretty convinced you'd met your soulmate five minutes ago."
"But...I..."
"No buts. Let me out of the car."

I sighed-Why did I even hope he'd return feelings? The world doesn't work that way. There's no spell to make someone truly love you. Either they do, or they don't.
I got out of the car, letting the cold wind whip my cheeks. I started walking away from the car, when I heard his voice calling out to me.

"Harry..."
"Yes, Ronald?"
"I'm sorry."
I shook my head "So am I, Ronald. So am I."
"But..."
"But what?" I asked him, slightly annoyed at his lack of words and abundant stuttering.

"I want to be friends..."
I looked at the moon shining over our heads, deep in thought. After a few seconds, I spoke up.
"If I could, I'd give you all the stars in the galaxy, all the flowers on the earth, and all the magic in our world. However, this wish, As much as it pains me to say it, is a wish I cannot grant. I hope you understand, Ronnie."

Ron sadly nodded, looking at my with tearing eyes.
With one last glance at my love, I left him behind, only to never see him again.
