"i hope he likes football." ashton commented, throwing his phone into the air repeatedly and catching it.

"i just hope he's clean." i said, intercepting his little game of catch. ashton and i had been best friends for a while now - as long as i can remember - along with mikey and luke. i don't live with them, but i might as well do since they're down here so often.

"what if he's like, gay or something, and starts liking you?" luke chimed on, walking into the living room where i sat nervously. he entered with a big bag of crisps in one hand, and a can of coke in the other.

"luke, i swear to god. if you so much as spill -"

before i could finish my typical rant at luke, the doorbell rang, and my heart dropped. i had never had a house mate before, and for some reason i was really nervous.

the boys all followed behind me as i made my way to the door. i swung it open and the three of us stood, towering over the person.

it was a girl.

"wait, you're new house mate's a girl?" luke asked, as i heard him high five ashton behind me. the girl had dark cherry coloured hair, pink lips and dainty freckles scattering her cheeks. she looked perhaps a year younger, maybe two.

"hi, i'm calum." i smiled, reaching out my hand for her to shake. only she couldn't, as under both her arms, was a little black cat.
