XIUMIN POV
How come I felt my heart beat so fast when I kissed Jeri. It wasn't like I kissed her on the lips. It was only on the cheek. Damn it Minseok. I thought to myself. You're such a hypocrite. Falling for the girl you confided in my opinion on intercompany relationships. What am I supposed to do? I can't ask her out now. Anyways, she's interested in someone else. I bet it's Key. He seems like her type.
It was 10PM, we had just finished practicing and the others went ahead to have dinner. I stayed behind to work on my lines for the drama that I was auditioning for in a few days. I was on my way to the vending machine in the hallway to get a drink. "Oh, Xiumin oppa." Someone called out to me. It was Jeri. "You're still here."
I smiled back at her. "What are you still doing here? I thought you went with the others to eat."
"I was composing some music so I stayed behind." Jeri replied. "I was having a menboong so I decided to come out for some air. How about you oppa?"
"I'm practicing my lines for a drama." I told her, as I picked my drink from machine.
"Oh, cool." She added. "Oppa, if you're not too busy, could you help me with the song I'm writing? I'm really stuck."
"Arasseo." I told her. "Help me finish my lines first. I'm almost done."
She smiled back, grabbed my hand, and led me back to the practice room. She was making it so hard for me to not fall for her.
When we finished working on my lines, I helped her compose the song she was writing. "It's about a girl who can't express her feelings about someone." She explained.
Could it be about the guy she was talking about earlier? I thought to myself.
"I've written most of it but I just can't find a way to end the song." Jeri-ah continued, twirling the pen in her fingers.
"Maybe you're just not inspired." I told her. "Take a break. Look for something that inspires you."
I passed her my drink and she took a sip. "Yeah, maybe I'll do that." She added as she closed her notebook.
"Are you hungry?" I asked her. "I know a good ddeokbokki place near the Han River. We can take a walk there after we eat."
"Please." She replied.
We drove to the ddeokbokki place, got some food and at the park. "This is the first time I'm eating ddeokbokki in a long time." Jeri said.
"Oh jinjja?" I asked. "Mm." I added as I fed her one.
"Oppa." She told me. "You're-- I mean. It's hot."
"Mian." I replied.
"Here." She said as she blew on one and fed it to me.
She giggled. "Wae?" I asked.
"Your lips are orange." She replied and wiped the sauce off of my lips.
"Gomawo." I told her trying to stay as calm as I could, but my heart was beating so fast I felt like it could burst.
When we finished eating, started walking along the Han River. A few minutes later, we decided to retire to one of the benches and rest before making our way back home. Jeri was resting her head on my shoulder. "Oppa." She said. "What you said earlier about relationships."
"Mm?" I asked.
"I don't agree with you." Jeri continued. "If you really like someone, you forget everything else. You just expect other people to understand how you feel. You can't not love a person because no matter how hard you try, it will always show. Sometimes you need to focus on how you feel instead of how others feel because if you don't, you lose yourself. And then one day, you'll just break."
