This is a new method I have found, well, I started using it recently, but a push from someone made me realise that it could be helpful to others too.
This is a quick method. If you can't decide a theme or whatever, find a word, any word, possibly one no-one knows but is still a word!
I did this, finding the the word 'Contemptuous' ... Well after you have your word, and you like it, thin of that as the theme of your story. There, right! That's a simple part. BUT
(( Contemptuous definition : showing or expressing contempt or disdain; scornful.))
YOU CAN EXTEND THIS !
Make a cover, or get someone else too. Using the title and something that can fit in with the idea/ theme, adn use that to add key feelings or if there's any thing there that can inspire anything in your story. Then you can take this for your own help.
Like I did, the cover is on the side...
I came up with a plot quickly, and now, It's all going to be written because I lied this idea.
TADA! INSPIRATIONAL !
It's all making a cover from a word, and a story from a cover and a word. WOOO !
