“Where should we go first?” Julia’s voice was still breaking, but it was better than when she arrived. I gave it some thought, but the answer was pretty obvious, “To the beach house, of course.” Christina scoffed, “But that’s almost 2 hours away!” I glared at her, “Look do you want to find some evidences or not?” Christina nodded, “I’m sorry but I’m tired of these false hopes, I mean what if we don’t find anything?’” I ran my hands through my hair and sighed, she may be right, but I wasn’t going to give up looking for Rosalie. She was a huge part of us, and if we let go of her, our lives will not be only filled with depression, but remorse too.

We got in my car and we sat there mutely. As soon as the car started, I knew I was going above the speed limit, but I couldn’t help the fact that anxiety was taking over me. “Em, slow down, if we get a speeding ticket, things will be much more enduring.” Christina spoke up.  I rolled my eyes and said, “Oh shut up.”  “Well, damn” Christina muttered. Julia stifled a small giggle which made me smile. “Oh, so the quiet one can laugh too, huh, that’s good to know,” I winked at her through the interior rear view mirror, and she smiled at me in return. Julia had changed a lot since the time I met her. She used to be a really shy person, until Rosalie helped her come out of her cocoon. But ever since Rosalie went missing, she’s back to her old self. “So what do we expect to find there?” Christina asked. I hummed, “Let’s see now, maybe some blood, a dead body, and a couple of knives?” “Emily, I’m serious. I know that we’re on this long drive to a. and I quote, ‘Beach House of Mystery’, but when we reach there, what do you expect to find?” “Well evidence that can help us trace Rose, and maybe clues that can help us find her, if we find something useful, we can always tell the police.” Julia said in a soft but audible voice. “Nice to hear your voice Jul, but I’m sorry to say the police are ahead of you,” I pointed that the beach house as I parked into the lot. There were at least 3 police cars nearby, and police scattered in front of the beach house, and with them where a couple of unfamiliar people. We got out of the car and rushed to the house. “Are they even allowed to be here?” I asked Christina and Julia. Julia bit her lip and said, “Well, they’re the police.” Someone behind us cleared their throat, and we turned around to look at who it was. It was a tall police man, who looked way too young to even be a legal policeman. “Can I help you?” the deep voice asked. I stuttered, “Uh, yeah, Hi. My parents are the owner of this beach house.” He nodded, “Are you Emily Poons?” I furrowed my eyebrows, “It’s Pons,” Despite the fact that he said my last name wrong, I was still wondering how he got permission to be here. I straightened my back, “May I ask you who gave you permission to check this house?” He looked at me, “It was your mother, Elizabeth Pons.” I pursed my lips and walked away. Christina smirked, “To be honest, he’s quite hot you know,” I titled my head, and narrowed my eyes at her. She shrugged.

I pulled out my phone and dialed my mom’s number. When she picked up, I greeted her with “Mom, why on Earth did you send 10 police men to our house without my consent?” My mom exhaled, “Well Hello to you to Emily, and this case was a murder I’m pretty sure I don’t need your clarification for this case.” “Mom, you don’t know if this case was a murder or not.”  “They’re looking at that right now, I’m sorry.” I gasped, “Wait, what? No that can’t be-“ I was cut off by Christina whispering, “Hey, look you tell me all the details later, I’m getting really bored here, Have fun!” I groaned, “Anyways, Mom, it can’t be, it’s not possible. If it was a murder we would’ve heard her scream or something!” “Em, I said there was a possibility, I know it hurts but you just have to bare it, I have to go now take care, I love you.” And she hung up. “It was a murder?!” Julia exclaimed. “My mom said it was a possibility, they’re not so sure right now.” Julia’s hands covered her mouth and she tried to hold her tears back. “Julia, please don’t cr-“ “Emily come here!” Christina yelled. I ran over to her and found a note in her hand. Her voice was a little shaky, but I still understood her, “Read this, I found it here, and it’s creepy.” I read over the note which said, I’m sorry, I had to. Please know that it’s not my fault. If anything happens to you 3, remember I will always be there for you even though I’m not next to you. Julia snatched the note from my hand. “You don’t think that Rosalie wrote that note right?” “Well, we are ‘you three’” Christina mumbled. Julia looked over at me and shook her head, and mouthed It’s not conceivable. I understood Julia the same time I didn’t.  This whole week has been such a blur, I can’t even remember being able to let go and breathe. I feel like someone’s drowning me, pushing me down until they’ve had their satisfaction. But I knew this wouldn’t end until we unbosomed all the secrets. The cop, Anthony, whose name I found out from Christina, came over to us, “The police are asking for you.” I nodded and went over to them.

We met another police man, probably around the age of 30, who had a clipboard in his hand. “Do you know the owners of this beach house?” I spoke up, “Yes, this is my parents.” “So how are you related to Rosalie Burnett?” “We’re her friends,” Christina said. “When was the last time you three saw Rosalie?” “Well, we were going to sleep, and she was right next to us,” I replied. The police man scratched his neck, “May I ask you three some questions?” Christina scoffed, “Aren’t you now?” The man gnarled at her, “I meant separately"
