*Jack's POV*

I haven't had a blink of sleep since I carried Mark home. Almost seventeen hours have passed since the incident. My mind has been racing for more than a few of those hours.
What if that demon woman followed us home? What if I hadn't 100% killed her? ... Or it? What if she comes for Mark? What if Mark doesn't wake up? Would you calm down? Everything will be fine. I just can't help but feel like all of this is my fault. Why was Mark so nervous when he came over? Why did Mark come over in the first place? He told you he likes you, idiot. Well yeah, I like him too. I don't even remember what I said to make him so flustered. You friendzoned him, buttercup. I'm not really liking these sarcastic nicknames, but did I really? I just told him I liked our friendship too- oh, okay I see it now. Oh god. What do I do?
Just when my mind was about to get the best of me, I feel a shuffle next to me and a soft groan. My face lights up at the thought of Mark finally being awake. I watch him sit up, stretch, and look around. He turns his gaze all around the room until it eventually finds its way to me. His facial expression turns from dazed to stunned and pale. He doesn't take his eyes off of me but I can tell he's gone into a spiral of thought. I want to explain to him everything that happened yesterday, but honestly, I'm a bit fuzzy on all of the details too. I wish things wouldn't have happened the way that they did. But what's done is done, and I'm just glad he's safe here for now.
