New Town

In a magical world of disco lights, laser beams, and the irreplaceable glow of black lights shinning on people. The sweaty people who are half naked and unware that they are packed in the club like sardines are to busy moving to the sound of the music the DJ makes.

It may seem weird and a little unbelievable that a person would feel their best and their most happiness when they watch the half naked morons bump into each other as they mix the loud music on the turn tables. I guess I am the weird person that enjoys watching that view.

This was what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I didn't go to collage or have any education on the music industry. I was all self taught, learned everything I know in the basement of my parents house. I was an amateur that no one wanted to hire. I would get gigs at a hole in the wall bar but nothing to big that would get my name out there.

I was tired of jumping from spot to spot, living off the little bit of paychecks I get from the gigs. After a very long fight with my inner self, I decided to finally settle down. Wanting to stay in the state that I grew up in, I found a small little town that seemed perfect to settle in. Haddonfield, Illinois.

As of right now, I find myself standing on the corner of Lumpkin Lane and Sherman Ave in front of a small one story house. It was cute and cozy looking from the outside, I could only image what the inside would look like. I grew excited at the thought of my very own house. I lived in those apartments that was owned by those old fat white guys who seems to only wear a short stained white tank top.

I hold my little key chain up that now has a set of keys on it. The silver materially shined in the sun as a wide grin crossed my face. I quickly skip that couple of steps that lead to my porch and unlock my front door in a hurry. I wasn't ashamed of acting like a little kid on Christmas, I couldn't help but be excited to have my very own home.

Ignoring the U-Haul that pulled into my drive way that had my little amount of furniture I bought over the years. I walk into main room, which I will make as my living room, an open arch to the left was where the kitchen was. Walking down a dark hallway I open the first door to the right and found a full bathroom. The last door to the left was my room, it was a decent size room with a small walk in closet.

Walking into the kitchen I notice a door, opening it I see a set of stairs heading down. My basement probably, I wasn't to interested in it at the moment so I closed the door. "Hey ma'am, where would you like the furniture?" One of the moving men asked as he stuck his head in my kitchen.

After about an hour of telling the moving men where to place the furniture, I watched from my front porch as they drove away. Turning around I stopped in the door way and looked over the inside of the house. Furniture was placed in every room right in the center, waiting for me to put it in the right spot.

"Ugh." I mumbled as I slowly backed out of the door way and closed the door behind. "It can wait till some other time." I declared with a smile as I spun around and skipped down the steps, only to stop dead in my tracks as the smile disappears from my face.

Right across the street from me was an old white two story house. The white paint was chipped and peeling off. The windows that weren't boarded up was either broken or missing. The lawn was over grown with weeds and vines that grew up on the side of the house.

How could this town just let this house become this way? What was the backstory of this house, was it haunted?
