Here is the video I was inspired of to write the first chapter. I wanted you to firstly read the chapter and then to watch the video and not the other way round, because otherwise you easily get spoilered despite the little changes I did.
If you don't want to watch the clip, you are not in need to do so.
I know that the topic is not easy and that it might be a heavy thing to start with. But I watched the clip and I just had to write something about it.
Even though I am not sure how the 'story' of the video really ends
(does he really come there or is he just an imagination of the people?), I think that the topic of depression and suicide is important and also current: I could mention lots of statistics and numbers at this point concerning suicide in Germany.
Two facts:
- Every year 10.000 people commit suicide in Germany. That are more deaths than those due to traffic accidents, Aids and illegal drugs together.
- Every second day a young person commits suicide.
These numbers are really sad. But I don't want to just mention them and say 'oh, this is so tragical'.
I want to raise your awareness to the topic of suicide and I want you to be attentive and careful by saying: "Those are just another dead people."
I want you to be helpful if anybody you know has problems like that and he/she tells you so.
I don't want more people ending like Lenny because no one listened.
