"Park Jungkook you put your shoes on right now!" Hoseok screams for the third time that morning.
Jungkook stares up at him with a devious smirk and jumps up from the couch once again, escaping to the steps of their new house before Hoseok speeds to him and tosses him back on the couch.
" Shoes , now !" he practically growls and Jungkook pouts.
"What is going on down here?" Jimin asks, eyebrows raised as he walks down the steps, fixing
his earing.
Hoseok gestures angrily to Jungkook, "he won't get ready."
Jimin furrows his eyebrows and looks to Jungkook who's calmly putting on his shoes, "he looks fine."
Hoseok snaps his eyes down to see an all ready Jungkook and his jaw drops. Jungkook blinks up at him expressionless, before getting up and running to Jimin, taking hold of his hand.
Hoseok licks his lips, running his hands over his face, "fine, you win this one." Hoseok glares at the blank child and Jimin scans over Hoseok, weirded out.
"He's a child Hobi." Jimin says slowly as he lifts Jungkook into his arms.
"He's a brat!" Hoseok points an accusing finger and Jimin rolls his eyes.
When he turns to grab his phone off the kitchen counter Jungkook sticks out his tongue at Hoseok over his shoulder and Hoseok gapes, jumping up and down in annoyance.
Jimin hands his phone over to Jungkook so he can play a game, "you ready to go?"
Jungkook nods and scrolls through the many games to decide what he wants to play in the car. Yoongi shuffles down the stairs now, ruffling Jungkook's hair as he grabs his coffee from the counter.
Hoseok puffs, plopping down in the back of the car beside Jungkook who's too preoccupied with his game to notice. Jimin looks at them in the rear view mirror and stifles a laugh. He wasn't completely oblivious, he knew Jungkook liked to give the redhead a tough time.
But he's a child, Jungkook loves to play with Hoseok the most that's why he's so hard on him. Jimin uses Yoongi's phone to put on Jungkook's playlist and they leave for the grocery store.
Because they've chosen a more people friendly neighborhood this time Jimin has Yoongi and Hoseok come with him when they leave the house, should there be other wolves around, Jimin needs the extra protection.
"Jungkookie did you decide if you like the strawberry or banana wafer better?"
Jimin looks back at him but Jungkook is much too into his game to decide. Hoseok taps his knee and Jungkook finally looks up directly at Jimin.
"Can we get popcorn chicken when we get there?" Jungkook suddenly asks. Yoongi snorts as Jimin nods with a sigh and asks Jungkook again about his snack.
Jungkook hums, looking down in deep thought, "banana."
Jimin smiles and nods once, turning back to the road and pulling in the small market's parking lot. Jungkook takes his hand when they get out and returns Jimin's phone obediently.
Hoseok sneers at them from behind, Jungkook always listens so easily with Jimin. Yoongi grips the younger's shoulder in sympathy as they follow the blonde and child inside.
Jungkook immediately grips his hand tighter as they enter, lifting his nose up and pulling Jimin off to the left. Jimin pliantly follows with a soft smile, Jungkook probably smelled the deli section.
His smiles falters when Jungkook instead pulls him to the small pharmacy. "Kookie?" he looks back to Yoongi and Hoseok who watch the kid curiously.
Jungkook stops at the checkout counter that's empty and growls. He puts his nose to the table, ignoring Jimin's protests about how dirty it is.
"Can I help you?" a voice from the back calls and Jungkook growls louder, enough for the person in the back to definitely hear.
" Jungkook !" he whisper scolds, "no thank you! Sorry for the bother!"
A man come out from the back up to the counter and Jimin tenses as his scent hits. Yoongi and Hoseok instinctively back up and Jimin pushes the little wolf behind him. The pharmacist, an adult werewolf, straightens his back at the sight of them. Even without their red eyes their vampire scent is still strong.
His eyes flicker down to the little pup hiding behind the blonde's thigh and tilts his head.
"We'll be going now." Jimin says carefully, backing up and swiftly pulling Jungkook into his arms.
The adult wolf watches them sharply, blinking back to reality when humans come into the section and they leave quickly.
Jimin fast walks back outside to the car, they'll have to find food elsewhere he guesses. He buckles Jungkook in hurriedly, snapping for the rest of them to get in and watching for anymore unwelcoming strangers.
Wolves don't trust vampires in general, but three vampires and an innocent pup, Jimin couldn't imagine what trouble that could get them in. Jimin googles the next market, luckily making it in without any mishaps and Jungkook sticking closely to his side.
He still hangs on the memory of Jungkook growling at another wolf. Werewolves were known for their territory claims but it hadn't crossed Jimin's mind that they might be Jungkook's territory.
Jungkook reminds him about the chicken and he laughs, giving his card to the boys to check out while he goes to the back to get Jungkook's snack from the deli.
"Don't worry Jimin, i'll protect you." Jungkook says confidently, pulling Jimin away. Jimin cooes, he scoops Jungkook up again in his arms and plants a big wet kiss on the side of his cheek. Jungkook scrunches his face up in disgust and and wiggles back out of the embrace.
Jimin gets him a cup of popcorn chicken, squishing Jungkook's cheek when the woman behind the counter says how cute Jungkook is. Jungkook doesn't let go of Jimin's hand to eat, instead digging his face in the cup and picking the pieces up with his mouth like a bird.
An alert on his phone tells him Yoongi and Hoseok are in the car putting the grocery's away already so Jimin tugs Jungkook closer to himself as they walk out. It's dark out now, no humans in sight out front
Jungkook stops abruptly and Jimin sighs as he lifts his nose, he should've known it wouldn't have been that easy.
"Give me the kid bloodsucker." a gruff voice echoes into the silence.
Jimin shoves Jungkook behind himself and the man from earlier appears in front of them, hoodie over his face but Jimin can recognize the smell.
Jungkook growls again, his fingers dig into Jimin's thigh but Jimin still keeps him safely behind him.
"He's mine." Jimin says calmly, glancing out to where their car is but doesn't see the boys so they must be waiting inside.
The wolf shakes his head, "no wolf belongs to your kind."
Jungkook growls as he steps forward, he rushes out from behind Jimin, stepping in between them with angry yellow eyes.
"Pup, it's not safe with him, he'll hurt you." the man says softly, reaching out a hand to Jungkook, just like Jimin had done.
Jungkook ignores the hand, Jimin steps forward just as the man does and Jungkook grunts, suddenly falling to the ground. Jimin's eyes widen, trying to rush forward but they other man yells not to.
"Don't touch him he's shifting!"
Jimin watches, mouth open as Jungkook's back pops, spine curving outward and it looks like unbearable pain but Jungkook only whimpers momentarily. The child hides his face in his hands and Jimin watches in awe as a tiny, baby black wolf is left surrounded in Jungkook's clothes.
The wolf stands on shaky legs, shaking his head as if his fur is wet before looking around at his surroundings. He looks at Jimin and his tail wags quickly. Jimin tilts his head and smiles at the small wolf. Jungkook takes a step forward, ready to run to the vampire but he yelps, being taken up in a stranger's arms.
Jimin snaps his eyes up to the other wolf, veins popping up under his eyes and instinctively baring his fangs.
" Let him go ."
Jungkook wiggles relentlessly in the strangers hold, "leave now and I won't harm you
bloodsucker."
He steps back and Jimin hisses, he speeds to the wolves, pushing them to the ground and rolling Jungkook away. The adult wolf growls and reaches up a hand, talons retracting from his fingertips. But Jimin grabs his wrist, snapping it and the stranger howls in pain.
Before Jimin has time to think it through he pulls the injured wolf up by his hair and faster than a blink sinks his teeth in the werewolf's throat. He instantly becomes pliant underneath Jimin, whimpering.
" Jimin ." it's faint to Jimin's ears, the blood rushing up from the man's body is hard to hear over.
And then he's ripped away and the man's body flops onto the ground lifelessly. "Jimin, Jungkook." Hoseok whispers angrily in his ear.
Jimin blinks, using his arm to wipe the blood drizzling down his mouth, he stands and looks back to a human Jungkook. Jungkook runs to him from Yoongi's arms, lip wobbling and eyes filled with unshed tears.
Jimin drops back to his knees and holds the sobbing child in his arms and against his neck so Jungkook can't see over his shoulder at the body.
"Are you okay Kookie?" he asks gently and feels Jungkook nod slightly, sniffling.
He tells Jungkook to go and put his clothes back on and they'll talk when they get home. He stands back up when Jungkook runs off, sharing a look with the other vampires.
Yoongi clicks at him, hands shoved in his pockets, "that was too dangerous Jimin." Jimin almost scoffs, "he would've taken Jungkook."
"We shouldn't even have Jungkook."
Hoseok steps in between them, "Jungkook is ours, alright?"
They look to Hoseok with raised eyebrows and Hoseok only glares back at them.
"Can you guys take care of this while I take Jungkook home?" Jimin asks quietly, gesturing to the body beside Yoongi's feet.
They nod and Jungkook runs back, crawling up into Jimin's arms and laying his head on the vampires shoulder. Jimin thanks them before shuffling back to their car alone with the pup.
"I'll protect you Jiminnie." Jungkook says tiredly and Jimin kisses the side of his head, silently promising the same.
