Chapter 17

It was around one in the morning when I decided to leave Fiyero's dorm room that night. We had lost track of time. There was a rainstorm going on outside but I knew I had to leave.

I put on my boots then put my hair up in a high ponytail.

"Fae," Fiyero said wrapping his arms around me from behind, "why don't you stay? Come on, I don't have a roommate, it's a suite, I have a king sized bed with plenty of room."

"Fiyero," I sighed, "you know I would love to but-"

"Then why don't you?"

"Fiyero, we could get in a lot of trouble especially considering it's two hours past curfew and we're a couple."

"So what?" He said turning me around to face him. "I love you and I want you here with me... besides that, it's pouring down rain, you're skin will practically melt out there."

"That's not funny, Fiyero," I glared at him.

"I'm not trying to be funny... but with your... water allergy, we don't know what could happen... I want you to be protected."

"I'll be fine," I said putting on my coat.

He grabbed my arm, "Please?"

"What about Galinda?"

"Tell her you're with 'Ferno'."

"You mean tell her I'm with you?"

"Wouldn't hurt," he said then kissed me gently.

I pulled back and sighed, "I... I guess I could stay... until the rain stops."

"Great," he smiled then flopped into his bed.

I took my boots off and let my hair down then layed down beside him. I snuggled into his chest and he held me close, stroking my hair.

"Do you ever... think about the future?" I asked him after a few minutes.

"Sometimes..." he answered, "not too often but I do."

"Oh..."

"Why?"

"Am I in it?"

He looked at me with an eyebrow raised, "Seriously?"

"I-I guess I'm not... Look, it's fine. It's just something I've been thinking about lately because I don't know what's going to happen after college and I... Never mind... Just forget I asked."

"Elphaba," he said tilting my head up with his finger making me look at him.

I gazed into his sapphire eyes.

"You are in it."

"R-really?"

"Did you have any doubt you were?"

"I... I don't know, I-"

He interrupted me by kissing me softly. I took off my coat slowly then kept kissing him.

"Yero..."

Knock, knock

"Shit," Fiyero mumbled as I pulled away quickly.

"Fiyero... I need to talk to you... Man to man kind of thing," I heard a familiar voice say from the other side of the door.

"Is that... Boq?" I asked quietly.

"Sounds like it," he whispered. "Just a minute!"

"I have to go," I said putting on my boots again.

"Too late now," he said. "Boq is out there."

"Then where do I hide?"

"Do you have to? This isn't his room, he shouldn't care that you're here."
