Chapter 9

Katy's P.O.V.

It's been a week since the incident with Orlando, and we're back on American Idol. Luke and I's relationship isn't public yet. The only people who know are Lionel and Ryan. It was Hollywood week, and Maddie Poppe was performing. As usual, Luke and I were holding hands under the table. Maddie finished and every applauded. It went to commercial break, and Luke, Lionel, and I started talking. "I'll be right back." Lionel said. And he left. "Katy." He said. "Yeah?" I asked. "The thing is, I kinda wanna make our relationship public." I smiled. "You want to know something?" I asked. He nodded. "So do I." I said. He smiled. "I'll tell Ryan." He said. "I'll tell Lionel." I replied.

The commercial break ended, and Ryan was welcoming back the viewers. "Before we get to the next contestant, let's discuss the way the judges feel about each other." Ryan explained. I took a deep breath, and squeezed Luke's hand tight, still under the table. "Luke?" Ryan asked. Luke took a deep breath. "Well I think over the past few weeks, Lionel and I have become really good pals, and I've become really close with Katy, who also happens to be my girlfriend." He said holding up our interlocked hands. Almost immediately, the crowd started cheering. Then they started chanting 'Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!' Luke smiled and kissed me. That made the fans start screaming. Afterwards, we got back to the show.
