ASPEN'S POV
"Right now I wish you were here with me."
I hummed softly along to the music blasting from my radio. I killed the engine, stepping out of the car, and already receiving many stares from of the average students. I rolled my orange-golden eyes and let an aggravated sigh escape from my lips. Slinging my backpack over my shoulder, I pulled out my phone from my back pocket and said clearly :
"Take a picture, it'll last longer" in my strongest Alpha tone,then i watched many people stiffly turn in the other direction.
To start off, My family and I were the highest ranked family in the Dark-light pack. My father was the Alpha and I was supposed to take the Alpha position on my 17th birthday, the day where rouges set our Pack on fire in our sleep, killing all the members but my mom, my dad, myself, and my younger sister Scarlet. We were extremely lucky to make it out with a few burns here and there, versus what our other family members received. To keep our sanity in check, we had to move into the Northern part of the territories, and moved into the Luna pack. I still had Alpha blood in me, which caused people to listen to me, whether I was their Luna or not.
I laid my back against the side door of my car, waiting for Scarlet to appear any second from now. She was driving her black range rover for the first time, and I could smell her anxiousness and perfume a decent amount yards away. Soon enough I heard her squeal right next to me, as she successfully parked her car without damaging anything, and I tipped my head back and I laughed. I soon felt the burning sensation of someone staring at me and I spun around, but couldn't find the creeper. My eyebrows furrowed, but the suspicion quickly went away when Scarlet tackled me in a hug. I overpowered her, and picked her up from my back and placed her with her legs around my waist so I was going to give her a piggy back ride into the school.
" Aspen if you don't drop me right now, I'll --" Scarlet started.
"You'll what?" I interrupted her while we wearing identical , big smiles on our faces. She responded by punching me on the arm and I laughed. I could practically feel her rolling her eyes, and I put her down once we made our way into the main office. We walked past the main hallway of the school and I could practically smell all wolf. I gave a pointed look to Scarlet, and she nodded, telling me that she smelt them, too.
We walked in front of an elderly old lady and I lightly knocked on the surface to tell her she had company. She looked up from the computer screen and just handed me 2 piece of papers before we could even introduce ourselves. Scarlet and I both looked at each other weirdly before reading the pieces of paper. The old lady gave both Scarlet and I our schedules without knowing who we were. I looked up at her and she winked, then cracked a smile. I smiled and nodded at her before leaving with Scarlet to our lockers. We walked to these washed out blue lockers and we both took care of our stuff. I soon heard wolf whistles behind us and I scoffed. I looked at Scarlet and she rolled her eyes, typical. Scarlet was already holding her binder and notebooks, patiently waiting for me to get going, and I offered her a small smile. After a few minutes my body soon tensed when I smelt a heavy cologne near us. I whipped around and watched a boy getting closer to Scarlet and I growled. His green eyes shot up at me and they widened the slightest and then smirked. My sister looked disgusted as he started to whisper in her ear and my rage was burning.
"Get away from her." my voice was deathly calm and the boy froze once more. Good.
"What are you going to do it about it, Princess." he shot back, placing his hand on Scarlet's waist, dragging her closer to him. I was confused, he didn't listen to me, and then it dawned on me that he could have strong Alpha blood in him also. I soon heard my sister's uncomfortable whimpering and I snapped ; I took his arm squeezing it until he let go. I saw him wince and through the pain he said,
"Is that all you got, Princess?" and moved his forehead to touch Scarlet's as she turned pale. My grip on his arm hardened and I flipped him over on his back, holding down his arms and stepping on his chest.
"I said, to get away from her." my voice dropping an octave and I could feel my claws coming out. The boy simply nodded, looking thoroughly pained, frightened, and confused. Before I could do any real damage though, I was dragged away from him, and the small crowd forming around us, by Scarlet's hand. We were alone in a corner and her eyes were watery. I dragged her close into a hug and she accepted it. She wiped stray tears away and then spoke softly,
"Thank you, I'll see you at lunch." she turned around heading to her 1st period class and I shouted at her still stiff retreating figure,
"Love you!" She slightly turned and smiled, and I returned it, covering up the lingering anger I felt.
Sighing ,I walked outside into the corridors and my stomach did flip flops, and I smelt something new, it was a smell of a wolf, but sweeter. I don't know what it was, exactly, but the smell made my heart stop, my senses were overwhelmed with a wave of roses and mint that made its way around me. I felt the familiar burning sensation of someone staring at me and I froze -- surveying my surroundings until my eyes locked with the most beautiful blue orbs. "Damn." I muttered, my voice came out like smooth velvet and i could see him shiver, and I smiled. I walked right past him, making sure our shoulders brushed, and in a snap my arm felt like the fourth of July. I purred in content and I heard a growl. I turned around while walking, looking back at his blue eyes, then made its way down to his pink lips and he smirked, I laughed.
"Mine." was the only thing i could register before I was slammed against a rough wall.
