Song of the chapter: Chandelier by Sia ( My favorite song)
ASPEN'S POV
"Help me, I'm holding on for dear life, won't look down, won't open my eyes"
"You’re lucky I love you." I scowled while crossing my arm over my chest.
"What, it’s not like I forced you to come with me, in the rover." Scarlet relented.
"Yes you did!" I exclaimed. My sister and I were on our way to the enormous pack house, and she insisted that she drove us, for “badly needed practice” and if I didn't, she'd threaten to tell Zach about a story that went down long ago, and it ended with my beautiful brown hair, dyed into this shocking, bright yellow color, and there were pictures. Pictures I still haven't found and burned yet, unfortunately.
"You’re right, I did." she laughed and laughed.
"You’re becoming too much like me, Scarlet.” I scolded her, which wasn't a bad thing, but I valued Scarlet's daintiness and innocence. When I didn't hear a respond I looked to her and saw that she as pouting. I reached over the console and pinched her cheeks.
"There's my precious sister I know and love.” I cooed in my best baby voice. I laughed when she made an attempt to swat my hands away, and ended up smacking herself, causing hair to fall in front of her eyes. I managed to stifle my laughter in the palm of my hand, knowing it would just make her distracted and embarrassed. I deserve an award, holding in your laughter, just makes my laughter increase, and my eyes water.
After a few minutes, the car seemed to roll into a stop in front of a beautiful mansion-like cabin in the woods, and as soon as we got there I could practically feel Scarlet’s heart accelerate. She was fidgeting with her hands and a small pink tint dusted across her cheeks.
“Do I look okay?”She asked hesitantly. I was confused and I raise one eyebrow.
“Scarlet, Is this why you feel embarrassed, anxious?” I asked gently. I saw her eyes widen and breathing accelerate. I put my palm on hers trying to soothe her, it worked slowly but I could still feel her nerves.
“You can tell?” She asked all panicked.
“Hey, hey shh.” I brought her head to my chest and hugged her, comforting her. “What’s wrong?” I prodded gently.
“Nothing I guess, just nerves. Nothing to worry about.” She tried to convince me. I saw sweat build at her temples and pretended to burry away the topic by nodding along, but I was still standing on the tips of my toes, knowing she was hiding something from me.
“But to answer your question dear sister, you look beautiful.” I reassured her and she smiled, was still a nervous looking smile, for some reason, but it was a smile never the less. We slowly began to ascend the pathway to the pack door, and before I could bring my knuckle to the hardwood my sister and I were engulfed into two hugs. They both pulled back, they were twin sisters, around our age I realized. They both had the exact same looks, but the one hugging me had this beautiful red hair, and the other twin hugging Scarlet had white-blonde hair.
