Longing

It was destiny, the way I fell in love with you
As soon as we met, there was a rush of memories
Of all the reincarnations that we spent together
All those are beautiful heart touching centuries

You are the one I was dreaming of, worth the wait
I see you even when my eyes are closed at night
The miraculous magic of so many ages spent in love
In the eerie darkness, my hidden wishes take flight

I felt it, how did we miss each other in this birth?
The moment we were on the opposite sides of the road
It was raining and slowly you lifted your umbrella
That was covering most of your face, the time slowed

Your innocent face and big eyes were glowing, a spark
Of recognition, confusion, tenderness, back to usual
Sadness and joy, strength and weakness at the same time
We can never again go back to being uselessly normal

All the time that slipped past us when we didn't meet
Was not a waste, there was a reason for it to be now
The music flowing through my head phones fell silent
Everything stopped, meant to happen, no matter how

We walked away from each other and all things resumed
The contact left in memory sub consciously, stored away
Lingering on the back of our minds and so we continued
On with our daily work, second after hour of every day

Not knowing our future, our unavoidable tangled fates
You are calling out to me but your lips are not moving
Can't escape this, am unable to explain this sweet longing
Please don't let this be an imagination or a dream, this yearning

And we met again just like we were supposed to for sure
This is not a mere coincidence we realized, this is fate
I wanted more, the more I ran desperately, out of breath
Not pausing to stop or think, because we are soul mates

Even if you want to move on, let go, even if it is aching
I don't want to forget, as we are connected physically
By the red thread of miracle, even if my heart is sinking
This is where our existence collide and overcome reality

You are the one deep inside me, my hidden truth and lies
The one I have been waiting for always, without knowing
That you are the one, I don't want to honestly wake up
I try to calm myself down but my heart keeps on racing

An irresistible pull towards you, do you feel the same?
We are different now when compared to the first moment
Of our meeting illuminated by a faint light, am not insane
The light keeps getting brighter, so does our needs
I wonder where this will lead to, to what extent
