Chapter 21: La Rouge

Lesedi

The car honked – indicating that Aiden and Logan were outside waiting to pick us up.

"They're here guys – Are you ready?", I shouted out while spraying some perfume on my wrist and applying it on my neck.

I ironed the top bit of my hair while letting my dark wavy curls fall on my shoulders and across my wine-red strapless cocktail dress – which was about three inches above the knee from the front and about five inches below the knee from the back.

The dress had a bit of beading and embroidery on its corset-like top half and flared pleated bottom – but what really made the dress stand out was the netting mesh which hugged the top half like a bouquet of flowers.

Pairing this up with my bronze metallic pointed toe pumps and a clutch of the same colour, I was ready to go.

"All done!", I said to myself as I grabbed the clutch and left my room with a somewhat grim Pablo prodding behind me.

He hated when all three of us left the house at the same time – it triggered a case of FOMO (aka. the fear of missing out), but we didn't have any other choice – seeing as it was the night of the Fashion Show and Liam expected all of us to be there on time and not a second late.

He had reserved us VIP seats and didn't want them to be empty when the show commenced.

So, Aiden had taken over the responsibility to pick us all up and take us to La Rouge on time.

"Mason, did you fill Pablo's bowl?", I called out as I paced down the stairs.

He was definitely playing the part of a fashion writer tonight – wearing an olive-green jacket over a light blue shirt and a yellow white-spotted tie, which he had paired with white pants and brown leather monk shoes.

An odd combination, you would think, but it worked – it absolutely worked.

"Yeah – hurry up, Lessie, we're late! – you look stunning by the way – love the outfit", Mason replied.

"Thank you, Mason darling, you look quite dapper yourself.", I smiled, as I tried to ignore the redness that had formed on my cheeks.

Compliments always made me blush, no matter who gave them – it was a gag reflex I could have really done without.

'So much for my air of sophistication', I thought, feeling like a giddy teenager hearing a compliment for the first time.

"Yes – yes – both of you look breathtaking – I'm in awe.", Noah remarked disinterestedly.

Noah was dressed in black pants and a dark grey woolen suit jacket. The sleeves of the jacket were rolled up to just below his elbows while a white shirt with black buttons lied beneath it.

"Ooh Noah – look at you – don't you clean up well", Mason remarked, eyeing Noah suggestively.

"What do you expect, bruh", Noah replied with a wink while he did a slow spin to show-case his outfit.

"Come on, guys we're late! – and yes Noah, you look great – all the girls will surely swoon at the sight of you.", I smirked.

"Oh, stop it, you...", Noah replied, pretending to be coy.

La Rouge was a huge warehouse space, that could be converted to pretty much anything – tonight, it was a fashion show/dinner/party venue.

We walked up to our seats, which were right next to the runway – Liam wasn't joking about it being VIP.

I walked hand-in-hand with Aiden who was wearing a navy-blue suit with a slightly buttoned-down white shirt underneath.
