~Belle’s POV~
“Uhh, I’m Cameron,” he introduced himself as he grabbed his drink waiting beside him.
“I’m Belle”
Cameron and I sat at the bar and talked for a short while. He told me that he had just graduated from a high school that was apparently around the area but I had never heard of it before. I told him a little bit about myself as well but I left out anything that had to with my family.
“Jack and I have known each other for a really long time, I think since we were 7,” I mentioned.
“So are you guys like dating or...”
“No, no,” I answered quickly as I let out a nervous laugh for some reason, “we’re just friends, that’s all we’ve ever been”
Cameron didn’t really say anything after that but it wasn’t in a bad way. He seemed like a really nice person and he was really attractive.
We were talking for about an hour when I saw Jack in the corner of my eye running towards me. As he got closer I saw fear in his eyes and I immediately shot up out of my seat. Cameron stood up as well and turned around to see what I was looking at.
Jack finally caught up to me and grabbed my hand.
“We need to get out of here now, your dad’s here.”
My eyes grew wide, “What?! Where?”
He’s back there and he’s looking for you. He didn’t see me but we need to leave, now!” he said with worry in his voice tugging my arm. Jack began running, practically dragging me behind him. I knew I had to leave but I had to at least say something to Cameron.
I tried to look back while I was running and I tried to shout “sorry” to Cameron but I knew he wouldn’t hear me. The music back at the beach was way too loud.
I hope I get to see him again soon, not only because I enjoyed talking to him but because I owed him an explanation. He was really sweet and I felt bad that I had to run off like that.
As I was lost in my own thoughts about Cameron, I continued to run but all of a sudden I crashed straight into Jack’s back and snapped back into reality.
I realized that my dad was somehow only a couple feet in front of us and Jack was trying to turn around and run the other way. I let out a scream and gripped Jack’s hand tighter as we ran in the direction we came from.
“Jack please we have to get out of here, where’s your car!?” I began crying at this point and I couldn’t stop. I couldn’t bear the thought of my dad getting me and taking me back to my house. He would hurt me worse than ever.
“Don’t worry I won’t let him get you,” Jack reassured me.
While we were running I kept hearing my father shouting in the distance as he chased us. I couldn’t make out anything he was saying but I could tell he was drunk as hell.
We finally made it to Jack’s car and I swear I thought I was going to pass out. I was scared out of my mind and exhausted from running so much. Not to mention my head felt like someone hit it with a baseball bat because of how hard I was crying. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so many emotions at once.
Jack struggled to put his keys in the ignition and I was beginning to panic even more as I saw my dad approaching Jack’s car.
“Jack! Come on! He’s coming!” I choked out.
He finally started to put his car in reverse and started driving away at, at least 50mph on a 25mph zone.
“Oh my God, I can’t believe that just happened,” I told Jack while my whole body was literally shaking. I felt everything going numb.

~Jack’s POV~
The last time I was as scared as I am right now was almost 2 years ago when Belle called me in the middle of the night telling me she was going to take her life. Ever since that night where I fortunately found her alive, I never thought I could ever be as terrified. Tonight changed that.
God knows what would happen to her if her dad had gotten hold of her today. I cringed at the thought of her father ever getting so close to her again.
I looked to my right and saw Belle literally shaking in her seat. She became so pale I thought she was going to pass out or throw up. I pulled up to a gas station and Belle and I got out of the car to grab a few things.
I told her to grab something to eat while I grabbed a bottle of Gatorade to help her. As I was handing the money to the cashier to pay for two bags of chips and a big bottle of Gatorade, I turned to faced Belle,
“We can’t stay at my house tonight because he’ll know that’s where we are”
“So where are we gonna go?”
“Uhh, we can go to Sam’s?” I answered more like a question.
“Yeah, sure. I’ll call him on our way. Let’s go” she said walking out of the gas station. I was glad to see she was a little calmer now.
About 15 minutes later, we arrived at Sam’s house. He opened the door as soon as we rang the bell and pulled Belle in for a hug even though he didn’t know what happened yet.
“Uhh, I have to go to the bathroom real quick so I’ll be right back,” Belle told us and started to walk away.
Sam and I went in his living room and I began telling him everything that happened starting with the night I found Belle crying on my porch.
Belle walked in when I was telling Sam about me driving away from her dad tonight.
I stopped talking once she walked in. She had a blank expression on her face but I could also tell that she was really tired. I guess Sam could tell too because he spoke up as soon as she came into the living room,
“You can go up to my room if you want and grab some pajamas to sleep in,” he told her.
“Yeah and grab me a pair of sweats and a t-shirt if you can please” I chimed in.
“Sure, I’ll be right back. Thanks Sammy,” she gave him a warm half smile.
“No problem.”
As soon as she was all the way back upstairs I told Sam to make sure not to hound her with a bunch of questions and stuff, at least not tonight. She needed space.
Belle came back in the living room a second time but now she was wearing Sam’s blue plaid long pajama pants and a gray t-shirt. She tossed me the clothes I asked for and I started changing into them while her and Sam went to go grab blankets and pillows.
We decided to all sleep on the floor in the living room that night but for some reason, as much as it seemed like she was, Belle said she wasn’t tired so we stayed up and watched a movie.
I was just glad that she was finally safe and far away from her dad.

IMPORTANT: vvvvv PLEASE READ
Oh my God, I am the worst person in the entire world. I was supposed to update such a long freaking time ago and honestly idek what happened. I’m not even going to make excuses but I am so so sorry. I seriously am so mad at myself for taking such a long time and I feel like shit now. I know I said no excuses but honestly I wasn’t really motivated enough to write. I literally barley get any feedback on this story and that’s what motivates me the most. So I think what I’m going to start doing is I will update faster if I get more feedback and/or votes. Without that I’m just going to update whenever I have time. I want to say so much more but I’ll save it for the next author’s note. Please give me feedback not only on this chapter but the whole story so far. Also if anyone knows some good Gilinsky or Cameron fanfics I can read please let me know. Thanks guys <3 Love you all and sorry again.
