Chapter 4

(Y/N's POV)

After I had left the Rose-Xiao Long-Branwen family household, I have been travelling around Remnant, in search of the mysterious man since he said that I should find him when I was ready to train, so my travels have started in Vale, I asked around for some sort of lead on the mysterious man, aka The Lost Beast, and nothing came up so far. Well, it's mostly because I was a faunus, people have tried to shoo me away from them, but I still tried to ask them about the man I was looking for, however, no luck in sight. So, I then traveled to Vacuo but got the same results, more shooing away, and more insults. Afterwards, I traveled to Atlas, but there was just one big problem about that...they were not so friendly to Faunus like me. Due to the White Fang uprising, Atlas has put their defenses on maximum overdrive, but they would only allow immigrants into the kingdom. Luckily, I was able to get into the kingdom and ask around. First, I started of with the local areas. I walked up to an old man before asking him the same question.

Y/N: "Um, excuse me sir, can I ask you something?" The old man turned towards me in surprise.

Old Man: "Ah, hello there, is there something you need?" I nodded before I told him that I was finding someone called "The Lost Beast", and if he has ever heard of it. He ruffled it short beard before shaking his head as a no.

Old Man: "I am sorry son, I cannot help you on that, but if you'd like, I suggest you go to the CCT and maybe find something there." 

Y/N: "Thank you so much for your time sir." He nodded before we said our farewells. I headed straight for the CCT, and I passed by a few boy, beating up a faunus girl. They kept on laughing and laughing at her, so I decided to interrupt. I walked over to them and placed a hand on oe of their shoulders.

Y/N: "Hey there kids, stop bullying this faunus. *whispers* Or else I will eat your hearts for dinner..." Just as I said that, they all slowly turned towards me, and I bore my canines before they ran away, luckily, without screaming. I then turned towards the girl, and I saw that she had nasty marks on her arms and legs, and her ears were that of a fox's.

Y/N: "Are you alright? You seemed to have taken a beating a while ago." I held out my hand for her to reach for, but she instead flinched. She then slowly grabbed my hand and I pulled her up.

???: "Thanks mister..."

Y/N: "Call me Y/N, somebody I don't know yet." She giggled a little bit.

Hanna: "My name is Hanna, and I really wish to become a huntress someday."

Y/N: "Really? That is a dream you should consider fulfilling. I believe that you will make a wonderful huntress Hanna. It all start from within you, the heart and mind. You have to have the heart to keep moving on, and the mind to say that you can do this, you can keep fighting on."

Hanna: "You think I have those qualities?" 

Y/N: "Of course Hanna, I know you do. Anyways, I gotta run, so is it alright if you can walk home on your own?" She just nodded before I ruffle up her hair.

Y/N: "Hope to see you soon Hanna!" Afterwards, I started running to the CCT once more.

(Timeskip)

As soon as I arrived at the CCT, I was immediately jaw-dropped, the tower was massive in size and so tall in length, that maybe it could've reached the clouds by now. With a deep breathe, I walked into the building, and I was immediately looked at by the passerby's, but they just looked away afterwards. I then took the elevator up to the top, and I got on a console to find out who The Lost Beast is or was. I searched constantly for hours on end, but I had no luck there too. I was gonna call it quits, however, one single file popped up with the name of Byakko no Yuki. I clicked on it, and sure enough, the mysterious man's picture appeared from the file, and I decided to take the data before anyone tries to take it first, but people were already starting to suspect me as a White Fang member, so I had to escape, but I had no way of exiting.

???: "Adios muchachosssss! Hahahahahahaha!" I looked to my left, and I saw a man , wearing western 1800's clothes, with four revolvers, holstered on the sides of his waist, and on the front and back as well. And by the sound of it, he was definitely a snake faunus, since he prolonged his s's on muchachos. He was running away from the guards that were posted at the CCT, and he started to drag me along with him.

Y/N: "Hey! Let go of me!" 

???: "Do you wanna get arrested for being a suspected White Fang member, or do you wanna escape!?" By the looks if it, I had no choice but to choose the second option. I nodded, and he got the message, so we both ran to the elevator, only to have more guards arrive to apprehend us. We ran back to where we were, but the other guards caught up to us, and we were now surrounded on all fronts.

Guard: "Freeze, put your hands in the air!" The snake faunus looked at me, and he sneakily pulled out a smoke grenade from the back of his coat, so I nodded. As soon as one of the guards was about to cuff us, he dropped the smoke to his feet before we both ran to the window of the CCT and jumped about who know how high we were off the ground.

Y/N: "THIS IS A FUCKING BAD IDEA!!!"

???: "I KNOW, ISSSSN'T IT GREAT!?"

Y/N: "NO IT ISN'T! NOT AT ALL!" We tried to find the safest way down, but it seemed like all hope is lost.

???: "BUCKLE UP TIG, IT'S GONNA GET A BIT WET!" He then grabbed my shoulder before we blinked just above water before we landed with a splash. Just as soon as we resurfaced and got to land, I punched him in the face.

Y/N: "That's for nearly getting us killed!" The faunus put his hat back on before speaking.

???: "Geez kid, you got a good hook."

Y/N: "Tell me who you are before I do the same thing again!" 

Jackal: "Ok ok, I'm Barney Jackson, people call me Jackal or One-Eyed Jack. Now tell me who you are."

Y/N: "Y/N, Y/N Rose." We slowly got to our feet before we locked eyes.

Jackal: "Pleasure to meet you Y/N, well, see you around eh?" He tipped his hat before he started wandering off in a random direction. He did a three finger salute goodbye while walking away, so I decided to go my separate way too. I got my soaked stuff before walking into the woods.
