You could hear a slight knock at your bedroom door, and laughing a little to yourself. Because there was no YOU in there.
Grabbing the towel, and pulling the robe trough your arms - you open the door to see a guy sitting on your bed, with a concerned grin on his face.
"Ash, what are you doing here?" You said while wrapping the robe around your waist.
"Your mom let me in. And Crystal gave me your address." He said with a heavy breathing voice. His eyes were swollen, and he was still wearing the sweats from this morning.
You sat down beside him, and put a hand on his back - "is it your time to be comforted now, or?" You said with a little laugh in your voice.
He looked at you with his puppy hazel eyes, unable to keep eye contact with you, "please?"
There was sitting a multi platinum artist, who've always been this hard "non feelings on the outside" person, almost crying in your childhood bedroom. It was almost a little too funny to you.You stood up on your feet to find some clothes to wear. Grabbing a pair of leggings and a oversized shirt, before running downstairs to grab some snacks and drinks.
"Everything ok honey?" Your mom looked funnily at you, with a smile.
"He's just got a little identity crisis." You whispered while grabbing the last bottles of coke in the fridge, and gave your mom a little kiss on the cheek, "nothing a little y/L/n self care service can't fix."Upstairs Ashton was cuddled up with the teddy bear that your ex boyfriend had bought you at a fun fare when you where 13.
"It's so soft." He said while wrapping it closer to his body.
You couldn't stop yourself from admiring the little child that was laying in your bed.
"Here, I got you some snacks. I guessed you probably haven't eaten all day."
He nodded at you and grabbed the bowl with chips from your hands, while put the drinks at the night stand and sat yourself down by Ash's side. You started to brush your hands trough his hair - In a way to make him relax, and make him understand you didn't mind his company. You wrapped your arms around his shoulder, while he intertwined his feet in yours. A feeling that you've missed for a very long time, it almost felt too comfortable- and at home.
The tv in your room was off, and the music from the bathroom was clinging in a slight elevator music feel in your room.
"It might sound over cheesy but this is nice y/n! You know - just BEING. Breathing for a minute." It suddenly care out of Ash's mouth, before he grabbed another handful of chips.
You laughed and shook your head, not the exact evening you had expected to have.
"You know, there's a new movie at the cinema tonight. You up to have a undercover spy moment?" Trying to explain to Ash that you needed to get out of the house.
"I'll accompany you only if I get your shoulder, and you buy popcorn." He said with a slight sassy way.
"Hey. I'm not the multi millionaire artist here." You said while throwing your hands in the air.
He could hold his laugh inside, and looked at you in a "I miss this."- type of way.
"I know I know. Let's get our asses out if this house." You said and grabbed his hands.Ash looked at you with a little laugh in his voice, when he watched you rush for your car key, and fetching a pair of sunglasses.
"I'll drive." Ashton assured you, and grabbed your leather jacket.
"And what's the deal with the sunglasses? It's not sunny outside?" He pointed at your glasses.
"You can't be a undercover spy, and have a undercover assignment without sunglasses. Duh." You rolles your eyes at him, and ran to his car.The car enrolled in downtown LA, and the streets were crowded with people, and you began to wonder if this even was a good idea. "Are the paparazzi still after you these days?" You asked while turning to Ashton.
"Ehm, yeah! Kinda... they're probably not out tonight. It's a Monday." He said while giving you a pat on the lap, before he continued to drum his fingers on the steering wheel. A little gesture that reminded you how dedicated he was at his art.
"You've got a new riff stuck on your mind?" Turning your focus back on the small talk.
He turned his face to you, "yeah. Kinda. We were supposed to practice today, but I was unable to focus on anything today. The boys kinda disturbed a more important and needed moment." He said laughing at you.
"Yeah. I know what you talk about." You both started to crack up in the car. When suddenly Ash's hand grab yours. He's palm were warm and sweaty.
Looking up at him you couldn't stop yourself from shaking your head with a little chuckle. Was he that anxious and stressed? The car stopped at the parking lot, right across from the movie theater.
"Y/n I can't go out from this car before I tell you this.....-" he breathed even heavier now than before.
"I kinda watched a really sad movie, to make it look like I cried, and to look miserable. So I could come over to your house.... I kinda.. I don't know how to say it... wanted your attention?" He rubbed his hands around his neck, with a embarrassed expression in his face."You did what?" You said with a chuckle in your voice. There was no way you could hold this laugh inside. It was never anything new that he could do crazy things to get people's attention, but this was a first for you.
He tried to be cool and breeze it of, but the rosy cheeks, and his embarrassed face could hide itself.
"A strange one you are, Ashton Irwin." You said before grabbing your bag, and made your way out of the vehicle.
Ashton started to run to your side to grab the door, "so we're good?" He said with a almost scared face.
"For now I think you better walk out of that puddle of water you're standing in." You said while pointing your finger to his shoes. "SHIT." He shrieked while jumping out of the puddle.Ashton put his hand around shoulder in a friendly way, the way he always used to do with you before. It was a feeling and a comfort you've missed. Someone that cared for you, and wasn't scared to show it. IN A FRIENDLY WAY.
Looking around you there was people trying to make it around in the stressful evening - coming from work, dinner, people rushing TO work. And then there was people like you and Ash that was roaming the streets in your own tempo, no rush, with the world whirling around you. It was nice to have a day where nothing was planned, everything happening in its own ways. You could see the cinema just a short block down, and you tried to sigh in a silent tone. Paparazzi, you could see them at the venue that was wall-to-wall with the cinema. Looking at Ash, you tried to shake his arm away from your shoulder, and tugged on your sleeves.
"Everything ok?" He said, and nicely removed his hand. For some reason he didn't see or even HEAR the party that was held now the street. They were screaming loudly at some girl that was standing outside by the stairs having a cigarette. She was so confident, and so fly - ignoring all the people around her and typing on her phone, while exhaling the smoke in a slow breath.
"Guys, some privacy please." You could suddenly hear her say with a consistent and loud tone.
They got closer to her, and started screaming even louder at her. And you could see Ashton tense up beside you. Without knowing it you had both stopped for a second to analyze the scenario.
"Is everything fine Ash?" You said trying to calm him down, and putting your hand on his forearm.
He looked you in the eyes with concern, "I don't think they will stop. The LA papz are ruthless."
You wrapped your arms around him, and hugged him for a short second. And breathing in his cologne. "Is that how you feel when they are around you?" You tried to ask in the most relaxed and kindly way.
Wrapping his arms around your back, and putting his chin on top of your head, he sighed, "yeah. They never give in, until they get some kinda scoop, or juice on you."
