Chapter 4: Solving Puzzles and Fighting Dummies

You enter the next room

Toriel is waiting for you. You look cross the long room. There are strange stream like things going across the room in different spots. There are small bridges to cross the streams. There are pillars and switches all around the room.

"To make progress here, you will need to trigger several switches. Do not worry, I have labelled the ones that you need to flip."

Toriel starts walking down the hall and waits near the exit. You can see that it is blocked off by some tall, sharp, spikes. Perhaps if you solve the puzzle they will unblock the doorway and you will be able to go into the next room.

You starts to walk across the room and walk to the first switch. You smile at the way the goat has "marked" the switches for you. Toriel has loudly marked the switch with large yellow arrows and a note. You read the note.

*Please press the switch

-Toriel.

You activate the switch and continue walking down the hall. You flip the rest of the switches. When you flip the last switch, the spike barracade deactivates, allowing you passage into the next room. You walk to Toriel and she smiles proudly at you.

"Splendid! I am proud of you little one. Let us move to the next room."

She leads you into the next room. This room is more circular than the others. There is a training dummy in the corner of the room. 

"As a human living in the Underground, monsters may attack you. You will need to be prepared for this situation. However, worry not! The process is simple. When you encounter a monster, you will enter a Fight. While you are in a Fight, strike up a friendly conversation. Stall for time. I will come to resolve the conflict."

"Practice talking to the dummy.
