"And that's the tea," I sigh.
"I say go for it," James laughs. "I don't know," I mumble.
James came over the next day to talk about Ethan and his flirting. Not gonna lie, James isn't so bad at boy advice lol.
"Emma?" James interrupts my thoughts. "Hm?" "Someone's at the door stupid," I walk up to the door and open it, revealing Ethan and Grayson. "We saw James snap, and we were bored," Grayson starts. "So we came over," Ethan smiles.
I move aside, letting them walk in and greet James. I close the door and follow behind them, eventually sitting down on the couch. "Thank god you guys came, Emma's so boring," James groans. I smack his arm following with a laugh. "Let's go to the beach! Pleasee," James laughs. I look at him, then the twins, shrugging. "Sure," they both say in unison.
"Do you guys know how to make a fire?" James asks as we walk on the sand, king toward the water. "Yea," Grayson answers. We all put our chairs out that I had at home. Grayson starts prepping the fire, while James and I take a seat. "Shit," he mumbles. "I forgot something from the car. I'll be right back," Gray gets up and goes. "I'll come with!" James yells, then shoots me a wink. I roll my eyes in his stupidness and look back at Ethan. He was sitting, his elbows calmly rested on his knees. I tried to avoid any conversation and just scrolled through instagram. "What's up?" Ethan says breaking the silence. I look up to see him still looking down at the floor. "Nothing much," I whisper loud enough. He just nods his head, taking a deep breath in. Soon enough Grayson and James came back, thank god.
Ethan's pov.
I help Gray start the fire, while Hames and Emma talked. She was so social with Grayson and James, but with me, it's like she can't even talk. She's so quiet around me, and it bothers me, a lot. We all just hung out for a while at the beach, before we decided to head back home. "I gotta go home now, my friends waiting for me," James explains. He hugs all of us then walks out. "I'm gonna go to the bathroom," Grayson says walking over to Emma's bathroom. "Today was fun," I smile to her. She refuses to meet eyes with me, and nods looking at the floor. "What's wrong?" I ask. She shakes her head, nervously smiling. "Why are you so reserved around me?" I whisper. She looks up at me, finally making eye contact. I see how apologetic her eyes are, but somethings stopping her. "What do you mean?" she smiles, shaking it off. "You know what the fuck I'm talking about Emma, don't play games," I raise my voice a little rolling my eyes. I lean back onto her couch and run my hands through my hair. "You just.. I don't know Ethan," she finally speaks up. "You don't know what?" I ask concerned now. "Your flirting, just makes me uncomfortable," she looks down. "I'm just trying to be nice Emma. If I'm being honest, I think I like you," I whisper the last part. Her head shoots up, her eyes growing wide. "Ethan, you can't!" she stands up walking to the kitchen. "Why?" I do the same following her. "Ethan. You have fans. Who are GIRLS. If this ever happens, I will get so much hate. Maybe even death threats," she sighs pinching her temple.
"None of that will happen. I'll protect you," I say going closer. She backs up and shakes her head. "No, Ethan, no. You can't stop people from writing stupid shit on the internet. I'm sorry but it just can't happen," Tears slowly form in her eyes, causing her to look down. "Do you even like me back?" I ask worriedly. She slowly nods, turning away now.
"So then what's the problem? We can keep it a secret," I plead. "For how long Ethan! I don't wanna live like that! I want a normal relationship!" she starts crying now, practically yelling. "Emma.." I didn't know what else to say. I just stared at her crying, wanting to comfort her, but I know she would just push me back.
"Ethan, please just go,"
