[y/n] POV-

I've been running around for the past few minutes now, I couldn't help it! I was so ecstatic that I got a job- my first job. I dance around in victory and pure bliss when I'm interrupted with my phone ringing. 'Someone's calling?' Without looking I reach for my phone but not grabbing anything from the surface of my bedside table.

'Huh? That's where I left it.' I hear the rings again emerging from under my bed though, I manage to get hold of it and immediately answered. My phone must've fallen from the vibrations the phone emits when there's a incoming call, the call must be important. No one calls me, not even my friends- we just rather texting instead.

"Hello?"

"Hey, is this- uh.. [y/n]?" The voice sounds similar, somehow

"Yes. Is this, uhh... Mike?" I gave him a taste of his own medicine. Hopefully it is Mike though.. why would anyone else from the Pizzeria call me anyways?

"Haha, I see what you did there. Using my own joke against me- nice one."

"Well gee, thanks!" Wouldn't have imagined him to be the sort of guy to complement on a recycled joke.

"Hey now, don't flatter yourself!" Wow that took a turn. I remained silent,

"Heh, kidding. Anyways, you know it's Halloween right?" 'What!' I scramble to my calendar and sure enough, it's Halloween... I completely forgot it was October! As I was pondering at my forgetfulness and stupidity I hear a throat clear on the other end of the line.

"[y/n]?" Oh no, I don't know what to say.. umm, I know! I'll lie.

"Yeah! Uh, sure.. yep!" What sort of response was that?! That's sounded so fake...

"Uhmm, whatever helps you sleep at night- so! Because it's Halloween, the Boss decided to present the Pizzeria with a ScAArrY theme." He slurred 'scary' like a parent would do, trying to scare their kid/s.

"Okay.." where was he going with this?

Well.. that means the band will have to change the schedule and whatnot. Different music and performance in show- so you can understand they're frustrated and dumbstruck. All the of the cooks are just as stressed and struggling so everything's hectic over here."

"That's not fair! I feel so bad for them all.." this so called 'Boss' is so heartless. Utterly horrible,

"Yeah, it is what it is. Well I'll let you go, oh and remember- show up at 8:30pm. Which is really soon so you should really get a move on." He sounded upbeat but stressed at the same time, even demanding.

"Ok, you got it" I assured him excitedly

"Alright, see you then!"

"See you then too!" ... why did I say that? No one says that! Ugh, I'm the definition of embarrassment right now. The call ends with a click and I release a sigh.

{Time skip- to 8:30pm}

Just as I had expected, I was running late... I had an argument a few seconds ago with my parents, they keep insuring that I get dropped off instead of walking. In the end, I gave up and let them take me there.. didn't really have a choice anyways.

We arrive at the Pizzeria a I immediately rush to get inside.

Wasting no time I was already in the the eating area, watching the performances and helping customers as they asked for help. I couldn't help but notice that it seemed like there was tension on the stage, the performers were acting a little differently; their facial expressions said it all as well.

Probably because of the short notice for the Halloween theme, I don't blame them- it would be hard having to chop and change all the time..

The show ends and the band gets ready for yet another performance. The music once again continues to play and the kids all get hyped with their faces full of Pizza.

The shows begins in the now dimly lit room. A window from the door that leads to the front part of this place in the background is a source of weak light that barely penetrates the gloom. Sad, soft music kicks in as we see the inhabitants of the mascots kids have grown to love.

The lighting emphasises this lonely, glum Pizzeria. The sombre music lightly tugs at my heartstrings and quite clearly the rest of audiences too. The opening seconds leave quite an impression and it is hard to avoid being completely taken in. We feel real sympathy for the band.

There is a clever shift in the music just after the Singer glimpses the vulnerable audience looking up to the stage instead of looking elsewhere at this dark, lonely Pizzeria. The very second the Singer kind-heartedly commits to his first act of smiling widely to the kids and began to sing,

The music increases in rhythm, tone and volume. No longer sad and soft, it becomes slightly upbeat with warmer notes tinkling into our ears. Suddenly I feel a flicker of optimism along with the parents present to this show. Maybe this song with have a happy-ending. The music and singing continues to build, surging into an epic chorus.

As everyone watches the guitarist and singer perform an outstanding performance for the children and parents. At the same time, the room the band inhabits seems to grow gradually less gloomy. Even the black and white tiled floor seems to grow with colour.

The music and lighting tells its own story of the magical transformation that everyday kindness and life can have upon the Pizzeria. Everyone sees it. And hears it. Believing in hope and that's there's always good in the world with just a simple smile. Encouraging kids to do better good and be happy,

Also that Halloween can be celebrated for different things other than torture or sadness.

The show ends and everything goes back to normal, everyone standing up and applauding with wide smiles on their faces. The children completely ecstatic!
